The night I met Drew Jagger, he’d just broken into my new Park Avenue office.
I dialed 9-1-1 before proceeding to attack him with my fancy new Krav Maga skills.
He quickly restrained me, then chuckled, finding my attempted assault amusing.

Of course, my intruder had to be arrogant.
Only, turned out, he wasn’t an intruder at all.

Drew was the rightful occupant of my new office. He’d been on vacation while his posh space was renovated.
Which was how a scammer got away with leasing me office space that wasn’t really available for rent.
I was swindled out of ten grand.

The next day, after hours at the police station, Drew took pity on me and made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. In exchange for answering his phones while his secretary was out, he’d let me stay until I found a new place.
I probably should have acted grateful and kept my mouth shut when I overheard the advice he was spewing to his clients. But I couldn’t help giving him a piece of my mind.
I never expected my body to react every time we argued. Especially when that was all we seemed to be able to do.

The two of us were complete opposites. Drew was a bitter, angry, gorgeous-as-all-hell, destroyer of relationships. And my job was to help people save their marriages.
The only thing the two of us had in common was the space we were sharing.
And an attraction that was getting harder to deny by the day.

This book could not have been any hotter.

Readers meet Drew Jagger, and Emerie Rose in an accidental meeting when Emerie is scammed over on his office building. Putting the pieces together, Drew chooses to make sure she's taken care when she goes down to the police station to file a report. What happens there turns out to be so much more than Drew ever bargained for. After a long day in court, things seem to really take a rocky twist for these two.

Things couldn't be more than opposite for Drew, and Emerie.

A well known divorce attorney, and a just-starting-out-moved-across-the-country-chasing-a-completely-different-guy marriage counselor leaves these two with enough words firing back and forth between them regarding their professions, that it is entertainment at it's finest. Playful banter back and forth across the office, occurs far too often before the banter lands them between the sheets....and on the desk.....and on the kitchen counter.

But things aren't always what they are meant to be.

When Drew has something pop up in his life that is his number one priority, he leaves Emerie in the dust. Not a relationship kind of guy, he waltzes off - read that as stumbles down an unlikely road he never wanted to be down in the first place - to handle his business, and to get his mind off of Emerie. Only he can't. Dashing off to find her, to fix them, he proceeds to have a close call with his own priorities, and vows to make things work. Only.....things may not work, once he confesses everything to Emerie.

I loved the characters in EGOMANIAC. Both Drew, and Emerie had enough dynamics between the two of them, that it really made reading this novel that much better. Drew is a typical cocky, self-centered, divorce lawyer who knows he can get who he wants, when he wants. Having a shitty past himself, he finds that relationships are overrated, and kills in the courtroom for his clients. Emerie is sweet, naive, and really brought the charm the first time they met. I've never been to New York, but I'm pretty sure I would fall for someone renting me a snazzy new office off Park Avenue. Anyways, there are a load of other characters that are entertaining, and really add to the story.

I wasn't 100% sure where EGOMANIAC was headed. The synopsis only gives a little bit of insight to these characters, and their lives, which makes reading EGOMANIAC so much better. There is a lot of depth to this story line, and I loved it. All of it. From the slowly building of the attraction between Drew, and Emerie, to the Epilogue that will steal any readers heart. There's so much more that goes on, and I really don't want to give it all away! Definitely interesting, will keep readers guessing, and will keep you interested all throughout the story.

This was a fun, entertaining, and very dirty book that will leave you wanting so much more of Drew and Emerie. This duo is my favorite couple for 2017, and I cannot wait to dive into more of Vi Keeland's novels. A wonderful 5+ stars to Vi Keeland for a great romance that sweeps her readers off their feet!!
