When you fall in love with your best friend, it’s the kind of love that’s supposed to last forever.

Jo Donovan was a true believer of happily ever afters—until her best friend, Christopher, was killed in Afghanistan, destroying her belief that fairy-tale endings existed.

Destroying her. Destroying her world.

Five years later…

Jo finds herself still stuck in the past, unable to find closure with Christopher’s death.

When she moves to Austin, Texas, with her son, Junior, she’s finally given the fresh start she’s been desperately seeking.

What she doesn’t know is that the fresh start comes in the form of her sexy neighbor, Drew Greyson.

Their friendship starts off rocky, but eventually, a spark between them ignites. It isn’t long before that spark turns explosive, and she finds herself falling for him.

Drew wants to be her everything, her forever, but will Jo’s pain from losing Christopher stop her from following her heart?

Warning: Recommended for ages 18+ due to explicit language and sexual situations.

**A stand-alone spin-off from the Look After You series**

Where do I begin with this review.  Is it the fact that right out the gates the author will all but rip you heart out and dangle it in front of you.  Or should I start with the old quote of "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger."  This is probably the way to go, because Jo has survived a pain like no other, yet she still tries to stay strong for her son, Junior.  After the devastating loss of her boyfriend, soul mate, she doesn't think life will allow her to find love again like she shared with Junior's dad, Christopher.

But, fate has a way of sometimes showing us that what we assume life will always be like, might just surprise us, in the form of a neighbor who tries to get on your nerves.  Drew is taken back when his new neighbor shows up on his door step ready to rip his head off and feed it to him, but she has a way of sticking to his thoughts.

This book will carry you in an emotional whirlwind.  The feelings of pain, loss, love, hope, and sacrifice all seem to tilt you one way or the other.  This book has it's hot moments, but the endless supply of sap is what keeps you pulled in.  In a way it has just the right amount for drama to make it a great story, but the heart felt feelings that roll throughout are what makes it so enjoyable to read.  Now, lets not forget some of the quirky statements that fall from both sides and you will find yourself going did I read that right, or just out right laughing out loud.

As you can probably tell, I really enjoyed reading this book.  It is well written, with well rounded and defined characters, and you will love each and everyone of them.  At times I felt as if I was sitting right there with them listening to them banter back and forth.  And just remember, sometimes when you don't think life is worth fighting for, someone or something will come along and change your mind and all but give you a swift kick in the ass to realize what you have is worth more than anything else in the world.. When you find that one true love you will do anything to hang on to it.
