Aurora Daniels is the bleeding heart of her family. With a gift and a passion for helping to heal others, she has a legacy of kindness and gratitude—a modern-day saint.
Every Sunday since she turned eighteen, Aurora has driven three hours into the city of Edmonton, Alberta, where she volunteers at an equine facility that rehabilitates troubled youth by working with horses. With their increasing success rate, the facility is expanding to foster violent parolees in hopes of a more effective release into society.
Assault with a deadly weapon and attempted murder—that’s what it says under the name on his sheet. Rhys White is released on good behaviour and promises to remain under contract for community service at the Equine for Hearts facility for a court-ordered period of twelve months.
Willow Bay’s saint may have stumbled across the one sinner who can’t be saved from himself.
Will Aurora be able to rein in Rhys’s quest for revenge before it’s too late? Or will she spend the rest of her life loving a man behind bars?
REIN IN by Anne Jolin is a story of second chances for all. Aurora Daniels is the main focus in this novel, and I couldn't have enjoyed this book anymore than I did. I have a long history of riding, so I feel the entire series spoke to me, and made me feel at ease with old "stomping grounds". Aurora is the youngest of the Daniels children, and also the most innocent. She is the heart and soul between her siblings, and keeps everyone grounded when needed. She is down to Earth, and always thinks of others before herself. Volunteering at the Equines for Hearts facility is her calling. She thrives off of knowing her assistance, knowledge, and overall good nature is helping troubled youth. When the program decides to extend the program to the local prison, she couldn't agree more that this will help the parolees gain a better status in the world than just being released.
Enter Rhys White. With assault charges under his belt, the convict is determined to exact revenge on the person who put him where he is. Aurora Daniels enters the picture. And it's all down hill from there for the unconventional duo. An angry man who has made bad choices, and had all sorts of odds stacked against him, he does his best to see the bright side of life, and to make do with what he has, and who he is. Aurora helps him cope with his new role in life in more ways than one. A heart wrenching story that shows just how much relying on one person can mend one's soul, and ideas of life. Can the duo make their friendship last, or does it transpire into something more than what they ever imagine? No spoilers here, fellow readers!
A brilliant 4 stars to Anne Jolin on another successfully written, awe inspiring novel.
I never expected to be an author. Writing was something that snuck up on me and rooted itself into my life. It was beautiful to discover that love, and I’m truly grateful to say I’ve found my passion.
If I could leave y’all with one thing, it’s that life’s far too short to not live it out loud. Drown in your passions, hold on tight to the things that inspire you, and chase your dreams relentlessly. I can promise you without a doubt that you won’t regret it. I know I don’t.
