Shame and regret hold enigmatic Ash Bascom to his past, a past he can’t stop running from. He thought he’d found solace with some biker friends. He was wrong. He found something very different, very dangerous instead.

Kathy Mason just wants to live her life, finish school and do the work that she loves caring for the animals at the local pet shop. She’s alone, but that’s the way she likes it. Because alone, she can’t be hurt.

She thinks he’s hot, charismatic but full of dangerous secrets. He just can’t get her out of his head. When their lives collide, they’re soon caught up in a web of uncertainty that neither can escape. For the Outlaw Biker Boys, it’s not called blood ties for nothing. Can Ash cut the bonds to save Kathy? Because she’s counting on him to save them both.

There is the old saying "Don't Judge A Book By It's Cover."  That is so fitting of Ash Bascom.  He has allowed his past to dictate his future for a very long time.  He has caused it to alienate him from his family and basically hold him emotionally hostage.  He longs to love and  is truly a good person who has gotten mixed up with the wrong people.  When he realizes this he starts planning to make the changes needed.  What he doesn't plan on is Kathy.

Kathy finds herself in a sticky situation by just a mere acquaintance that completely turns her world upside down.  She is a good hearted person with a touch of innocence about her.  When she befriends Ash she has no idea the issues that he is carrying around as well as the trouble that his "club" is after him for.

This book is a great story of survival.  The loyalty that Ash shows to keep Kathy safe is amazing.  It has a bit of suspense that gives us just the right amount of drama to keep us reading forward, but it also gives us that warm and fuzzy feeling of developing attractions of two people.  The strength that Kathy has and shares with Ash is one of the points of the book that makes it so interesting.  Add that to the fact that Ash allows himself for the first time in a very long time to have actual feelings and possible closer keeps you hooked.

The twist that this story takes is wonderful, even though it is scary, you will love this story.  Now, I will say that as an avid MC Romance reader there was a few points of wording that I had to overcome that did not sound right, but I found the plot of the story enjoyable so I was able to overcome those differences.  Also, this is not your typical MC romance.  It is more clean than most of them, so if you are looking for that rough and tough bad boy, this book is not about that.  It carries a hint of more innocence than that.  But, do not get me wrong it is a very good book and one that I enjoyed reading completely.
