For almost two hundred years, Trace has searched for his mate. Now he’s met Cordray. Brash, sassy, and covered in tattoos, Cordray isn’t at all the type of female he thought his mate would be, but he can’t deny the way his body reacts every time she’s near. She calms him and sparks his desire in a way no one ever has, which terrifies him, because if she has that kind of power over him, what else is she capable of?

Cordray thinks Trace is the most exciting male she’s ever met, but she refuses to drop her guard and let him in. She loved deeply once, only to be spurned when her lover mated another. The heartbreak was so severe, she lost her ability to feel. Trace has reawakened her sense of touch, but she’s scared that if she takes another chance on love only to be rejected again, this time she’ll lose her life.

With both committed to pushing the other away, every conversation escalates into a war of words. But for these two, their arguments are just foreplay. It’s only a matter of time before their desire grows stronger than their resistance. No other has tamed Trace’s inner beast the way Cordray can. And now that he’s found her, God help anyone—or anything—that tries to take her from him.

If I had a graphic for 5+ bars, Bound Guardian Angel would definitely get that coveted honor.  This entire series kicked me in the teeth.  Talk about your all time book hangovers.  I haven't been able to pick up another book in over a week and that's saying something considering I hadn't read seven books in a row in months let alone in a matter of three weeks.  But you see, that's how incredible this entire series is.

Okay, enough of the whole series, more reviews coming on the first six later this week!  Today is about Bound Guardian Angel. This is a story about Trace and Cordray and finding their mates after centuries of believing they were too dark and twisted to ever find the one person they were meant to be with.  You see, in the All the King's Men series that Donya Lynne has created for her readers, each of the stories is about just that, each member of AKM finding their mate and bringing peace to their soul in a way they never thought possible and previously scoffed at others for finding.

But this story is also so much deeper and sexier than just Trace and Cordray finally busting through their hard outer shells and having mind blowing, soul scorching sex.  No, this story is also as much about Micah and Trace as it is about the overlying romance.  You see, Trace is a half-breed vampire. When humans mate with vampires, half-breed's are created and with that birth, some develop powers.  Powers that if not kept in check can make them turn mutant and mutants are a very bad thing.  Like rip you apart and throw you to the four corners of a building bad thing.  To keep Trace's unique abilities in check, he has sought out the help of Masters, both male and female alike to help with a certain level of disgrace and punishment to keep the beast at bay.

At the end of Book 4, Rebel Obsession, Trace finds himself in a sticky spot with the King and Micah agrees to be his Master when he returns to him.  My inner fan girl of Micah and Trace was screaming when I opened Trace's story hoping we'd get to see Micah in action in his dungeon and OH MAN did Donya not disappoint.  I crave more of Micah and Trace, even now their connection is visceral, it's compassionate, passionate even but not romantic and definitely, Erotic!
Micah abruptly leaned forward and pulled Trace’s head to his so that their mouths crashed together. He growled as he closed his lips over Trace’s in a bruising, possessive caress. All Trace could do was relinquish himself and let it happen.
This wasn’t a kiss of passion, or one of lust. This was a seal of ownership. One that declared Micah as the keeper of Trace’s body and soul from here until forever. And one that Trace readily allowed as he opened his lips and gave himself over to the power exchange. He was more than eager to begin this journey with his new Master.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, read that scene in relation to what is happening in the grand scheme and it may set your e-reader on fire!  I just can't get enough of those two and I hope we'll see more of them in the future.

So many incredible moments and quips between Cordray and Trace as they get to know one another better throughout the story.
“You might be able to boss my dick, honey, but this”—He thrust into her. Hard. Making her cry out and dig her fingernails into his back—“This is mine. I own it. It belongs to me now.”
Donya weaves a magical and ensnaring tale that's a feast for the eyes as much as the imagination as she continues to build the suspense in the overall All the King's Men universe.  There's so much more to come from this lady and from this series and I for one am glad I jumped on the band wagon for this wild ride!

Highly recommended!
