“I’ve always believed for every person there was only one love that would last a lifetime. I never understood quite what it meant until I met you though. You’re it for me, Lorrie. You are my love that lasts a lifetime.” ~Curtis Walker

A love story 50 years in the making…

Curtis Walker has lived his life to the fullest and he attributes that to the woman who has always been by his side. The one thing he knows with absolute certainty: he can’t live without her. Especially not now.

A love that has withstood the test of time…

It’s no secret that Curtis and Lorrie, the proud parents of the seven wild and rowdy Walker brothers, have found their happily ever after. Now, it’s time for the emotional journey of how they got there.

(5 + Bars)

There aren't enough Bars I could create for this one.  I say it a lot, that Nicole has outdone herself but this one blows them all out of the water.  Curtis is by far and away the best novel Nicole Edwards has written to date and here's why:

The Story!  If you've been reading Nicole's books you'll probably have read the Alluring Indulgence series.  And if you have read that series, you'll know that the parents of the seven rowdy cowboys of Coyote Ridge, TX are Lorrie and Curtis Walker.  This is their story and at first when I heard there would be a novel showcasing their life together over FIFTY years, I wondered how she would pull it off.  I really thought it would be told in periods, a decade at a time to show you how their life progresses but it doesn't.  Beautifully, Nicole uses Lorrie's diary as a way of showcasing the journey of how a young girl flourishes into a woman, meets the love of her life and proceeds to live a love story most would die for!

The Heat!  This is a Nicole Edwards Erotic novel after all. You'll quickly learn that those seven rowdy cowboys are a chip off the old block.  Curtis is the "Original Walker" after all and man does he live up to the hype!  He's the original alpha of Coyote Ridge.  A man steeped in conviction and loyalty and above all, love, for the only woman ever to capture his heart.  But don't let the man fool you, the woman behind the man is just as game for a sexual adventure giving him a run for his money.

The Journey! Lorrie and Curtis have a love that will stand the test of time.  They have held on to one another for dear life over the last fifty years and it all culminates to one incredible journey. I'm using their story as a way to reshape my own relationship.  To re-evaluate the things I want in life, the things that matter versus the things that don't.  If you take one thing away from their story it is that Family, Honor and Love should be the cornerstones of our lives and so Curtis will forever be in my heart, it's pages burned into my soul and will now and forever be a favorite read!

Highly recommended!

First off, I just don't know how Nicole manages to write the stories that she does. Each one seems to get better and better every time. When I heard that she was going to write Curtis and Lorrie's story I wanted to know how she was going to go about it. Well, let me tell you, the things that she shared in this book were far beyond anything you could even imagine. The story grabs you at page one and will pull you in and hold your heart, soul, and mind hostage until the very last page.

This book is so far beyond a five bar rating. Not only do you get to see what makes Curtis the man that he is, but you also get to see how Lorrie becomes the back bone of this Walker clan. Nicole does an amazing job at putting their entire life story on paper, and not only bringing it to life, but allowing us to see what or how the trials that these two survived had them forming the values of their family. When I finished reading this book I was so taken with it that I had to find someone else who had finished it as well just to be able to gush about each part of it. Luckily Jennifer was there to listen to me go on and on about all the different sections of the story and how it made me feel. And, yes this is a book that will actually take your feelings and bring them to the very surface of each page.

Nicole puts it out there in this one and I can promise you one hundred times over that you will not be disappointed. There have been many books by her that I would have said were in the top runners to be my favorite, but with out a doubt Curtis has taken the number one slot hands down. I hope that you will get the enjoyment out of this story like I have. Curtis is definitely a book that you will find yourself rereading time and time again.
"Because, Lorrie Jameson, if I'm gonna be anyone's boyfriend, I'm gonna be yours. "Me?" Yes. You, I'm gonna find a way to win you over. No matter what it takes."
"I've always believed for every person there was only one love that would last a lifetime. I never understood quite what it meant until I met you, though. You're it for me Lorrie. You are my love that lasts a lifetime."

1. Name one thing Curtis does that makes you nuts?

Only one? Well, I have to admit, I love the man to pieces, quirks and all, but as with any man, his inability to listen at times is quite bothersome. You know, when he nods as though he has heard me, can actually even repeat back what I said, but hasn’t really processed it. It’s a trait a lot of married men posses, I think.

2. What would you say makes a marraige successful?
Patience. That and love.

3. So what was it like raising 7 rowdy boys?
It has been the most incredible, most amazing, most nerve-wracking experience of my life. My boys are capable of getting into anything and everything and trying to keep up with them when they were small definitely added a few gray hairs to my head. It was worth every single minute.

4. What's the strongest quality of each of your sons?
Although I could easily list one quality for each of them, I think they all possess the same one and it’s one of their greatest strengths. Understanding. They were raised to be that way, to have an open mind and an open heart and that’s what makes them the great men they are today.

5. Did you always keep a diary? If not, what made you want to start?
I’ve kept a diary since I was 14 years old. I started the day I met Curtis and haven’t stopped.
