Only one man can help her. Is she willing to pay his price?
Faced with the potentially overwhelming loss of her family’s fortune, Lara Bertrand turns to the one man who can help her, the gorgeous and powerful Connor Donovan.
She knows he’s dangerous to her on every level. Only desperation would drive her to make such a risky proposition. After all, she knows all about his ruthless nature and relentless determination to succeed.
When the classy, elegant Lara walks into his office with an outrageous proposal, Connor is stunned and more than a little intrigued. Ever since he first met her, he’s been attracted to the cool beauty, but she’s more than kept her distance.
Connor is absolutely willing to help her out. For a price. He not only wants her hand in marriage, but also her total submissive surrender…

Lara Bertarand has finally reached the point of so called desperation, when she realizes that her father has no desire to step down our of his CEO position, but yet isn't putting all of his needed attention into the business either.  Due to this the business is suffering and Lara has reached her point of no return to say the least.  So he makes a decision to basically force her fathers hand.  The thing is, is that she one, doesn't expect the outcome, and two she learns some really awaking self awareness things.

Connor Donovan is Lara's best friend Erin's older brother.  When Erin makes an off the wall statement about her brother, Lara is floored, but then could it make sense.  Connor is the type of man who is strong willed, dominant, and all alpha male.  Due to the strong characteristics he is the ultimate Texas business man.  He is truly what fantasies are made of.  And yes, we all know that makes him drool worthy.

So now that we have the formalities out of the way I am sure you are going ok so what is going to make we want to read this book?  Well, here are a few things that I came up with that kept me turning page after page.  1. It has that hot steamy business man who demands not only respect, but attention in a round about way.  2.  It keeps your curiosity peaked due to Lara's self discoveries.  3. The drama in means of what is going to happen with Lara and the family business.  4.. What would be a romance without the question of those pesky things called feelings.  And, last but not least, we must not forget the part that Mr. Bertrand himself plays in the story.  And of course we all know the way to a man's heart is through his stomach so just refer back to this when you read about the chocolate chip cookies.

So, have I given you enough to make you want to read this book yet.  If not, then, I give up because you are just going to miss out on all the sexy fun, and that truly is your loss.  Now, as for me, I am going to go grab the other stories in this series and see if they are remotely as good as this one.

"Curiosity is part of the reason you are here," he said.  The words were a statement, not a question.  ~Connor~

Each time she interacted with him, she found him more compelling, more dangerous.  Logic should dictate that familiarity would make her feel more certain, but it had the opposite effect.  ~ Lara~
