Candice Monroe had a fiance Chase Matson who she thought was dead. After his funeral she found comfort in the arms of his partner, Jason Monroe. This new yet old love led her down an aisle as wedding bells sang.

Shock and dismay hit as her deceased fiance stood alive and well in the back of the church as she said her vows.

People she thought were dead are very much alive. Love she thought she lost was merely buried under pain. Not being able to grasp the emotional turmoil Candice does what she does best... runs.

Will she ever stop running?

Which man will she choose?

Can she be the hero or will she become a victim as the game of rush and roulette began on her life before she even knew it had.

I had the opportunity to review both books within a short time frame from one another. The first novel in the series, Wishing on the Water will blow your mind. I was so shocked by the ending, I wasn't 100% sure what to think, nor how to write a review on it. I will say this much about that novel; it will have you chomping at the bit to get to book 2, Water Wishes. I was equally as shocked in this novel, and was quite frankly, really pleased by it as well. A well written novel, Elizabeth York will have her readers in tears by the ending!

Readers fall in love with Candice (Candy), Jax, and Chase, all over again as their adventures are recapped wonderfully by Miss York. As the story progresses the reader witnesses that Candice Monroe has too many skeletons in her closet that she can't seem to let go of - one of them being the man that she had once given everything to, Chase. With his random appearances in and out of the Monroe's (Jax and Candy) life, Candy begins to second guess herself, and everything else that she's been trying to protect herself from. The story escalates in an edge of your seat climax that will have you ducking, and wanting to scream out due to the suspense!

While there were a few things that I noticed wrong with the story line, I think that lies with that fact that Miss York's Brooklyn Series goes hand in hand with the Water Series. There are many side characters - Brooklyn being one of my favorites! Overall this was a wonderful read that will have the reader sitting on edge, wanting more than what they have in front of them. Wonderful job to Miss York on what seems to be another phenomenal series!

Up and coming author Elizabeth York has been writing for about seven years. Located in the southeast, she spends her days drinking sweet tea on the porch with her laptop in hand. She has devoted her life to her family and her books. With the loss of her Father to cancer in 2010 she makes "Dear Daddy" dedication pages in each book and donates 10% royalties to cancer research.
Take the time to get to know the characters and you will love them as much as she does.
