Locking emotions away is how Scorpio survived years as a conscripted killer. Now, as a Lash Watcher, he uses the same lethal skills to help his fellow warrior demons maintain peace in the realms. When a mission goes awry, he finds himself a thousand miles from home with no weapons or comms. Injured and alone, he is taken in by a group of witches who know him well.

And want him dead.

Tessa’s affinity with metal makes her one of the most powerful witches in her coven. Her deepest wish is to stop the oppression of her people—a direct result of her former leader’s murder. She agrees to marry the chief of a rival coven, knowing it won’t be a love match. But she abandoned the idea of a soul-deep bond long ago. Especially one with the rough, former mercenary warrior who shows up and claims she belongs to him.

Even from behind bars, the longer Scorpio stays, the more he unsettles Tessa and she questions all she thought she knew. Choosing him will put everyone she cares for at risk. He’s nothing like she expected, and the last thing she could dare to want.

What a story!  This woman slays me with the her aptitude for spinning captivating paranormal romances.  They are gripping, suspenseful and heart wrenching.

Assassin's Kiss is no exception this time around.  She has knocked another one out of the park folks.  Scorpio and Tessa will have you flipping pages, clinging to the HEA from page 1.  I never wanted to table the novel when I was reading.  I couldn't predict what would happen next.  You have a Lash Demon Watcher who lands himself in turmoil during a mission from Tainted Kiss.  He lands smack dab in the middle of a witch coven that he wronged a century ago.  Ever since freeing them from one overlord their land has fallen under another even more dominating individual named Damien who took their land and wants to control them with dark magic.

Tessa is the daughter of the coven leader and has sworn to marry Damien to try and protect her people from his dark ways, hoping that by being on the inside she can learn more about his plans for them.  Meanwhile the mercenary Scorpio lands in their midst and she must help to entrap him to await trial from the Elders.  This mercenary believes she is his Mate and fated to be his forever.  She despises and wants nothing to do with him.  Just as the curse put upon him over a century ago said she would.

I hated Damien, I can't even mention the other that I despise due to spoilers.  I love Brenin and I hope he gets his own novel soon.  The heat between these two is sizzling and will keep you squirming in your seat for sure.

It's an up hill battle both ways for these two as they learn more about one another.  Nothing will be easy as they build their bond.  As I said, you'll be flipping pages furiously to see how it all pans out and in the end you'll be left with one certainty, that this is one series you HAVE to read!  If you love the Watcher's Series make sure you pick up The Solsti Prophecy series also by Sharon Kay, where it all began for the Watchers!  You will definitely not be disappointed!
