Passion dominates the diamond in the second novel in this fun and flirty baseball romance series by the author of High Heat.

Paul Dudley, president of the Plainview Thrashers, is spinning out of control. Preserving his family’s baseball legacy in these tough times takes everything he’s got, and constant clashes with his father have left him struggling for authority over the team and even his own future. So when sports reporter Willow Bourne, a one-night-stand from a year ago, walks back into his life, he knows he can’t give into his feelings for her—no matter how strong they are.

Willow never expected to see Paul again, and she’s got her reasons for keeping her distance. Except the more time she spends around Paul, the harder it is to hide her secrets—or stop herself from falling head over heels.

As the sparks between them fly, Paul discovers what Willow has been concealing from him, leaving him with a difficult choice—keep the team his top priority or make his own legacy by following his heart…

Willow and Paul have a chance encounter at a bar when Willow's best friend convinces her to spend a night out with her at a local hot spot.  What Willow doesn't expect is to meet Paul Dudley.  He manages to catch her attention.  After a brief conversation they click and Willow decides to let go, live a little and have that one night of pleasure.  But, the result of that one night will be one that she will not be able to forget.

Paul Dudley finally meets the so called perfect woman.  Unfortunately cupid is not playing fairly and the one night that they have together is all he realizes he is gonna get.  At least until their paths cross around a year later.  What he doesn't know is the small surprise that Willow has not told him about.  Willow holds her cards close to her chest even after they are thrown back together and this time for more than one night.  The problem is will she be able to share her largest secret with him, and if so will he be able to handle it?

At first the book started off as your typical romance.  Boy and Girl meet, hook up, and things happen and then they move on.  But, then the screwball takes its place in the story and the game changer happens.  At this moment you then find yourself grabbing a hold of the book and not wanting to put it down.

Now, if you are looking for that all out alpha athlete, this book doesn't have it.  But, if you are looking for the hot guy with a stand up reputation willing to do anything for the girl, then yep, this is the perfect book with the added sports backing to make it all that much better.   The other thing that this book has going for it is the little unexpected quips that are thrown back and forth among the characters.  This just adds that much more depth to it.  Now, I will tell you that at first the book does seem to start off a bit slow, and yes in away it is a bit long, but in the grand scheme of things it works itself out and you will find yourself really enjoying the overall story.
