At twenty-six, Katie McGregor has hit rock bottom. She's done reckless things a good girl like her never thought she'd do. Like hiring a private investigator to spy on her sleazy boyfriend, walking out on her job without notice, and driving all night back to the one man who'd never left her thoughts.

Jake Johnson. The boy next door. The one whose glance always made her pulse race, whose touch made her knees weak -- and whose words broke her heart.

Three years ago, both reeling from the death of her brother and Jake's best friend, they'd moved apart and retreated into their careers. Now, Jake has it all, and Katie has... nothing but memories.

Katie is thrilled when Jake welcomes her into his home with open arms and the same sexy smile. But is he the same jock who didn't do relationships and treated her like a little sister? And with so much between them, how can they overcome the hurts from the past to ignite a love that perhaps has smoldered all along?
This is one of those books for me that I couldn’t stop thinking about. You know, the one that sticks with you. I know I say this a lot but I couldn’t put this book down. This being Taylor Sullivan’s debut novel, I am so excited what else she has in store for us!

Katie has been dealt a very crappy hand in life. So much loss and sorrow for one person to go through. The only person that held her together was her brother’s best friend. The one she has been in love with for years on end. The one who didn’t reciprocate her feelings; so she thought.

Jake thinks of Katie as a little sister. He’s been around Katie and her brother since they were kids. They did everything together. Jakes family wasn’t the lovey dovey type so he went where he knew he was loved unconditionally.

After a tragic accident, Katie and Jake didn’t know that they needed each other to heal. They ended up going their separate ways not realizing how much they needed each other. After three years apart, Katie returns home. Can the two repair what tore them apart?

I absolutely LOVED this story. Not only was it a romance but it did have some action to it as well. It definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. It had everything you want in a story; romance, love, humor, sex, lies, deceit, mystery, and did I say sex?

I loved most of the characters in this story. There’s always a few that you want to throat punch but that’s what makes a good book come together. I really enjoyed the passion between Katie and Jake and I’m not just talking about the sex. They had this connection that you can’t really describe; as if they were meant to be together but too dumb to realize it. This is Kindle throwing territory to the max!! In all the writing was superb! This is a must read, you won’t be disappointed!
