Tactical, lethal, resolute.
Haunted by a centuries-old tragedy, there’s no room in Arawn’s life for softness. Every action he takes is for the betterment of his race and the good of the realm. He leads his elite band of warriors the same way he lives his life: full on, without compromise, determined. Except for one sexy female who happens to be his subordinate.

Tenacious, passionate, tough-as-steel.
Ria relishes the duties Arawn assigns her as much as she respects the deadly combatants on her team. And she has a secret: her formidable boss is also her deepest fantasy. Years of working under his authority haven’t dulled the spark she feels, yet her passion is tempered by the hints of loss she gathers about him. His dark and sexy moodiness draws her, but he’s a hard man to approach as he keeps the world at emotional arm’s length.

Secrets laced in blood burn his battle-hardened soul.
When Ria is gravely injured in the line of duty, Arawn can no longer fight his own long-simmering feelings. But a secret, more heinous and ugly than anyone could imagine, prevents him from surrendering his heart. Despite his intentions, he and Ria forge a connection both fiery and unexpectedly tender. Yet every day brings them closer to shocking facts. Evil stirs in his blood, and hiding the truth from her will be the ultimate betrayal.

I've come to expect absolutely solid, incredible reads from Sharon Kay and she delivered once again.  When I finished On Solid Ground (Solsti Prophecy #4) I was sad that it was over but ecstatic at the thought that there would be a whole series branching off involving Arawn and his sexy band of Lash Watchers.

Tainted Kiss picks up where On Solid Ground left off, more or less!  It's a month later, Ria is in a coma following the attack by Elegia's forces and Arawn has sat dutifully by his soldier's side.  Sure, because she's his soldier that's the only reason right?  Yeah, that's the look he's been getting from everyone as he comes by her room everyday to spend time with her.  The hulking sexy Lash demon has had his eye on Ria for decades, too tainted by the death of his mate from several centuries ago, Arawn doesn't believe he'll ever have a mate again.

When Ria awakes to find the Lash Commander in her room, holding her hand and telling her stories, she is perplexed but not at all uncomfortable.  Truth is she's had a thing for Arawn since she joined his ranks and that thing has nothing to do with protecting the realm.  No man has ever come close to making her feel what she feels when she's around him but she's never dared voice those feelings out of respect for Arawn's deceased mate.

This book is HOT!  Off the charts, toe curling, delicious to the depths of your soul hot and you will NOT want to put it down.  There is enough suspense to keep you flipping the pages, enough steam to make you need to turn the fans on full blast and enough swoon worthy goodness to keep you coming back for more hot demons! The story is solid, the characters are intriguing.  Back stories are insanely well done for all characters and there are some incredible introductions to upcoming characters and novels! I'm not going to ruin any of my favorite parts for you, read it and PM me on Facebook so we can swoon together. I.Need.More.Now!

Highly Recommended!

Sharon Kay writes award-winning fiction and can never get enough reading time. She loves paranormal romance, with romantic suspense following close on its heels. She loves winter and black coffee, and is endlessly inspired to write kick-ass heroines and the men strong enough to capture their hearts.

Sharon lives in the Chicago area with her husband and son, and didn’t expect to write one book, let alone a series. But WICKED WIND and the Solsti series formed in her head one weekend and refused to stay quiet until she put pen to paper. Her characters tend to keep her up at night, as they banter, fall in love, and slay endless varieties of power-hungry demons.
