I never imagined that I’d be starting me fifth year as a faculty member in the Medieval Studies department as a thirty-two-year-old widow. I’m sure to be the butt of every joke around campus as the collateral damage of a sex scandal that made national headlines. And my husband left me completely broke before he killed himself.

I don’t want to lose my house and all the money I invested in it so I make an arrangement through The Club. I’ll get what I need…money

This was my first Ren Monterrey read, and I was not disappointed, at all! We begin with Dr. Mary Pine. A widow at 32, putting in her tenure at the university, this woman has had a rough summer break. From her husbands infedlity, his suicide, and a back log of unpaid bills, she knows things are looking bleak in her future. However, a conversation overheard from a student has Mary looking into something she's never done before; selling her body to a man she's never known.

When she makes the arrangement with The Club it's simple. Money is deposited into her account every month. He calls her for a weekly (or mre) booty call, and they go about their separate lives. What she isn't expecting is for the man she gets paired with to be young. Young, applying for the graduate program at the college, and stealing Mary's heart - unconventionally. Dante is nothing that Mary was expecting, and she shocks herself, as well as those around her with the events that begin to unfold in her life.

Dante has never had a good life. Swearing that he was adopted, the nerdy, young man, begins his sexual endevours by applying at The Club. He's young. He's got money. And he's simply been an outcast his entire life. There is no other way - that he sees - that he could potentially find pleasure for himself of the female sorts. When his arrangement with Mary Pine begins, he's shy, uncoordinated, inexpereince, and downright adorbble. Mary feels sorry for both herself, and him as their arrangement progresses into something that they never thought would have happened.

Ren Monterrey did a wonderful job bringing The Club into play in a very unconventional, forbidden type love. Ren presented both Mary and Dante very well, and didn't think twice about their chemistry; it seemed to come natural for them, and eventually exploded into a very, very satisfying ending. A wonderful 5 STARS to Ren on a job well done for this phenomenal book.
