Anne has worked for her sexy, ex-surfer, businessman boss for seven years, and she’s been in love with him for two. Jake doesn’t think about her as anything but his ever-efficient assistant, though. She’s been trying to get over her feelings by dating other men and interviewing for other jobs—which doesn’t make Jake very happy. But Anne is determined not to put her life on hold for him.

When she gets a new job offer, Jake will do anything he can to keep her, but he still only seems to want her as an employee. Anne might find him irresistible, but she’s learned to resist. There are lines that he’ll just never cross.

But then everything changes in only one night...

Ever since her former roommates deserted her, Meg has had to share an apartment with a lazy, obnoxious ass. He won’t pick up after himself, and he refuses to get a good job. Plus, he doesn’t always wear enough clothes—which is really a problem, because he’s hot.

Maybe he’s occasionally funny. And every now and then he can be sweet. But mostly he’s just annoying. It doesn’t matter how much he’s starting to flirt with her—Meg is going to resist. She’s way too smart to fall for a guy who never takes anything seriously.

But then everything changes in only one night...

Raney wants to enjoy being a bridesmaid at her friend’s wedding, but the best man, Justin Woodward, keeps putting a damper on her mood. He’s brilliant and kind of geeky—not at all the kind of guy she’s used to—but she’s always been nice to him, so she can’t figure out why he acts so cool and obnoxious with her.

It shouldn’t matter what he feels about her, but she can’t stop thinking about him. So her mission for the weekend is to get Justin to like her. Her attempts don’t seem to work at all.

But then everything changes in only one night...

So I had contemplated on how I wanted to write my review since I got to read all three of these books back to back.  Also with the books following the stories of three girlfriends and their desires for the untouchable men they want, I figured why not write the review as one piece.
So with that being said, lets get started shall we.

Going with the title you can assume that each girl, Anne, Eve, and Raney all at one point decide that what can one night hurt.  Anne has had feeling for Jake since she started working for him.  The problem is that Jake is very straight forward when it comes to work, and a work place is not a place for the boss to date an employee.  So for poor Anne she has to question will she ever get the chance to win the eye of Jake.

Now we find ourselves moving forward into the lives of Anne's friend Eve.  Eve is the planner of the three.  I found myself picturing my sister in Eve's spot because her character is so much like my sister that it is not funny.  Eve being the serious one is attracted to East, but the issue for her is that he is a "slacker".  She questions if something would happen how would it turn out.  Knowing that he is a player and can satisfy a woman just adds to the desire, but she just can't get over his horrible and all but nonexsistant work habits.   Then, she hears him play his piano and she finds herself even more drawn to him.  But, after one night will their living arrangements be awkward.  Can she allow herself to let her guard down?  Ever the thinker Eve is.

Now, we are moving forward with the group.  Raney is feeling the effects of life due to living with her parents.  She is feeling as if she is floating at sea by herself, sick of dead end relationships and wondering is there someone who wants her for her.  As you can see from this title like the first two she is thinking of maybe just maybe throwing in the towel and going for that one night.  Well the best man just so happens to be Jake's younger brother Justin.  Raney finds herself attracted to the geeky but handsome Justin.  The more she thinks about it the more she finds herself thinking of him and what would it be like to have just "one night".

I liked the books because they are novellas, so they are quick reads, but also because this group of friends is fun to hang out with.  The banter that they all share, plus the support that they have for one another reminds me of the days when I had my group of girlfriends that I hung out with.  The other part that seems to work really well is not only are the girls all friends, but the guys are friends as well, so it makes the get togethers a little more interesting.  The way that they stories unfold are really well written and you find yourself going really, what did she thinking, or why did she do that, or just get your head on straight.  If you are looking for a light read, that will not hold you down for two or three days and fun to read, then I recommend that you one click these three right now.
