Envy is a silent, cold-blooded killer, extinguishing a little more life from me every day.

Hitting sharp, fast and seemingly out of nowhere; struck by lightning not a storm cloud in sight... in she rolls. Reece Madison, a force to be reckoned with, head of the class- which means one thing- she's out of mine.

"You're wasting your time Rhett Foster. Locks have keys and walls can be climbed. I'm not buying your cold, skeptical act for one minute."
And then there's that...

But as much as she compels me to open up, show her what no one else gets to see…there’s guilty shadows lurking in the depths of her eyes that she cannot hide.

What happens when a guy who swears off relationships and falling for someone, questions those two rules?  We meet up with Rhett after he and his brother have gone back to Vegas after the band has basically dismembered.  He is still the same playboy that he was in Pretty Instinct, but can he change his player ways.

Well when he spots a small woman, who he thinks is stunning, she might just hold enough of the feisty attitude that tilts his head.  Reece is small in size, but has a mighty tongue, and because of this she is not easily persuaded by the charms of one Rhett.  She finds him attractive, and of course interesting, but is it enough to convince him that she can be in a relationship and possibly end the all out playboy.

What happens when fate has away of dropping a bomb on you not only with what seems to be an unattainable woman, but when the one thing you want most in  life seems the farthest away which is a career in music.  Well, Rhett gets the surprise of his life when he meets Reece, but does the cards that she holds near and dear have the power to make dreams come true.

I loved this book just as much if not probably more than I did Pretty Instincts because the humor, lust, and emotions seemed so much deeper.  I  also like the fact that we get a glimpse to see how Lizzie and Cannon to see how life has been treating them.  Jarrett is still the same ol' way just wanting to find the right woman to love, but not quiet there yet.

The pull between Rhett and "Teaspoon" is fierce, but neither no exactly how to act on it.  Reece doesn't just want to be another notch on his bed post, and believe it or not Rhett seems to like that fact.  Throw in his memories of his grandpa and it all seems to make sense as to what sets Reece apart the most.  Now, the beautiful thing is that both characters really want for nothing, but you can not tell it from the way that they act.

So as the question always comes up, would I recommend this book, Hell Yeah I would.  Will it be worth rereading, totally.  Do I want to read and see if Jarrett finally finds his way in the world you know it.

And of course I must leave you with a few of my favorite quotes:

"I don't care if you've slept with him, Reece shrugs.  I just met him, so less snarky and more drinky would be nice."

"Hello to you too, Mighty Mouse.  You're just makin' all kinds of things happen aren't ya?  Remind me to choose my battles with you very carefully."
and my favorite one of all

"I don't care if you are Long Dong Silver and repeatedly growl the sexiest words I've ever heard-being bent over to stare into a public toilet has got to kill the mood!"

It always happens the same way, every time. The second I finish coming, the blip of exhilaration dissipates, and I’m left feeling vapid and angry. I turn my back on my latest conquest and, blocking out the images of insincere, physical satiation, I scurry off like a criminal. Maybe I should quit fucking them.
Or maybe I shouldn’t. The tête-à-têtes, and unrequited clinginess as much their fault as my own—more in fact, if everyone’s being honest with themselves. I tell them, straight up, in plain English, no “code” or sidestepping what I’m really saying, that it’s one fuck. I offer absolutely nothing more, and they accept. But women have a specific order and purpose to everything they do. It shouldn’t eat at me when another woman discovers her plan didn’t work, and surprise, she isn’t the one “different” enough to change me.
You want to be the lady worthy of a call the next day, flowers, a ring? Then don’t ride the dick until you get at least one of them. And if you do jump on—gyrating and grinding in what you’re just certain is some mystical, “He’s never had it so good before” kind of way, and it doesn’t work—don’t blame anyone but yourself. Who was really trying to manipulate who?
