Benjamin Stone has an unrealistic determination to rid the streets of New York from any and all drug dealing scum. That determination quickly moves him and his partner, Rob Withers, up the ranks to Senior Narcotics Agents within their precinct. A new case assisting the FBI has Ben facing the ghosts of his past. Those same ghosts are the very reason he moved to New York to become a cop.

Ella Parker is bright, beautiful, kind, and severely damaged as a result of one tragic night in her past. Having lived an idealistic life, that horrific night sent her pretty castle of cards crumbling down. Forced to start over, she leans on her best friend, Andrea Hensen, to help her move on. With Andrea’s help, Ella quickly settles into her new life in New York City. It’s a safe and comfortable existence, albeit very boring.

Their paths may have never crossed, if it hadn’t been for their meddling best friends. Rob and Andrea believe that Ben and Ella are soul mates that were meant to be together, a perfect match. There’s one slight problem. Ben and Ella want no part of this matchmaking scheme. Funny thing about fate, it’s inevitable.

Or is it?

Can a truth cause the possibility of a happily ever after to crash and burn? Ben and Ella learn that sometimes truth isn’t the best answer. Sometimes ignorance is most definitely bliss.

Fantastic!!! Of course it is….it’s A.M. Madden and her books are amazing! But I have to say I honestly, truly honestly, loved Stone Walls.

The beginning is cute and funny. Ella’s BFF is matchmaking again. She’s setting her up with her boyfriends partner on the force, Ben. All this under the guise that she’s helping fate with putting them together. The antics of getting them together are extremely entertaining.

Of course they finally stop fighting this “fate” and realize that they at least need to be friends. However, friends isn’t working out either mainly do to the sexual attraction between them. I could almost see the sparks coming off my kindle!! They are like two magnets that are trying not to hook together, knowing it’s fighting a losing battle.

When the twist and turns of this story put Ella in extreme danger, things rapidly change. Ben, as a cop, wants to protect Ella. Ben, as her boyfriend, can’t seem to let her out of his sight with the possessiveness he has for her.

Ella is strong willed. She’s a black belt and she’s got a fierce determination. She’s not going to be strong armed. There are things Ben can’t tell her as a cop, and it really makes it hard for them. But the way they become with each other. The talks and the agreements and the sheer love that becomes of them….it’s an amazing ride. Watching them is sweet and wonderful and so entertaining.

Ella’s past is fantastic. Well, not in real life - it would be difficult but as a story it’s not something you see coming and not really anything I’ve read before. Add to it Ben’s past and you get two people fighting for the same thing but in their own way.

Does fate sometimes need help? Are events put in place so that people and things will happen?

I loved this book! LOVED!!! Like you need to go one click right now!!!! It’s fantastic!!!

Highly Recommend!!!!
