Racing against time, NSA Agent Joaquin Muñoz is searching for a little girl who vanished twenty years ago with a dangerous secret. Since Bailey Benson fits the profile, Joaquin abducts the beauty and whisks her to the safety of Club Dominion—before anyone can silence her for good.

At first, Bailey is terrified, but when her captor demands information about her past, she’s stunned. Are her horrific visions actually distant memories that imperil all she holds dear? Confined with Joaquin in a place that echoes with moans and breathes passion, he proves himself a fierce protector, as well as a sensual Master who’s slowly crawling deeper in her head…and heart. But giving in to him might be the most delicious danger of all.

Because Bailey soon learns that her past isn’t the only mystery. Joaquin has a secret of his own—a burning vengeance in his soul. The exposed truth leaves her vulnerable and wondering how much about the man she loves is a lie, how much more is at risk than her heart. And if she can trust him to protect her long enough to learn the truth.

I honestly didn’t know what to expect this being part of a series that I haven’t read before but I was totally blown away. Shayla Black is an amazing author and kept me absolutely mesmerized throughout the entire book. If you like an erotic romance packed with suspense then this is the book for you.

Joaquin Muñoz is an NSA agent is on a mission in hopes of finding a woman who went missing as a child. There are some nasty people hunting for her and leaving behind several deaths in their wake. One of them being a friend of Joaquin so it’s at a personal level for him to put a stop to these monsters.

Bailey Benson is a ballerina that is about to have her life changed forever. She is kidnapped and questioned about things she has no idea about whatsoever. What was this guy thinking?

Bailey is too frightened to trust anything coming out of Joaquin’s mouth. Plus, he was sputtering about her being the daughter of a dead Russian scientist. I don’t think I would have trusted him either, but when he spoke some Russian and she answered right away it was evident to me that something was going on.

It took a while to convince her that she actually might be this missing woman but when some evidence and dreams became clearer she was starting to be on board. She actually started to fall in love with Joaquin and vice versa. The angst between the two you could cut with a knife. They both denied the love that they had for one another but Joaquin had this dominating caress about him towards Bailey. It was sweet how protective of her he was. However, Joaquin has some commitment issues. His father passed when he was thirteen and never wanted to get close to anybody, even his own family, in fears that they would leave as well. Bailey has always buried herself in her ballet so she’s never had a working relationship with another man since high school. Will these two ever realize the love they have for each other? Will they ever get past the demons that live in the shadows of their lives?

I was so absorbed in this story that I didn’t want to put it down. I just had to know what was going to happen next. The characters were amazing but who doesn’t love a strong dominant man? I didn’t know the characters from the first eight books in this series but I found that I really liked them as well. The sex scenes were panty melting and will keep you panting for more. I loved how both Joaquin and Bailey finally trusted one another to dig deep into each other’s souls, but was that enough?
