Recovered from an abusive relationship, Juliette Moore is ready to live life on her own terms. Successful, intelligent, and slightly timid, she makes a pact with her best friends to seize the day. She gets more than she bargained in the tall, dark, and dangerous biker, Shooter.

Drawn to her purity and charm, Shooter, finds himself smitten before he knows what’s happening. With his claim firmly placed, he’s ready to go to war when she’s threatened by a madman from her past. Together they weather life storms and find common ground as they merge their two very different worlds.

I really Really REALLY love MC books!!!! They are just fantastic. This one does not disappoint either. It’s hot but sensual; demanding but still respectful; they have rules but some are bendable.

Juliette (love the name!) is such an amazing character. She’s so innocent but not nieve. She’s a librarian but she has this quietly determined personality. If confronted she’d be the one scared out of her mind but as he walks away she’s going to be whispering “fuck you”!  I really enjoyed this about her. She decides she’s not had near enough of the “f" word!! FUN! LOL So she and the girls plan a quick girls night out. She had no idea she’d find her soul….

Shooter is not really like most MC guys. He’s not quite as hard as they are. Maybe because he wasn’t born into it like most are. However, he is military so he does have that hard edge, it’s just enough. He’s sensitive and so fantastic with Juliette. You can feel how well they belong like genuine soul mates.

Peter is Juliette’s ex and man, he is an awful person, dealing in seriously shady things. This book makes you realize and understand that stereotypes can be majorly deceiving. Peter is everything you would think of as an amazing partner, next to Shooter who’s in one of those dreadful motorcycle clubs. There’s no questioning who’s the better man!

I loved this book and can’t wait for the next one. I’m hoping it’s Jody & Moose!! As with all first books in a series, there’s a bit of introductions that are made but I love that part. It gives the author a chance to set the scene and Shyla did a fantastic job with this. I love the characters and the traditional MC values that she incorporated with the story.

The only part I felt lost with was a big section that felt missing. They plan to go away for a bit till things calm down (can’t say why) and in the next chapter they are back and everything is just…..finished. It’s not the very end of the book, that part was great, but the mystery part, and the main part of the story, definitely dropped off.

I still wouldn’t let that deter me. It’s a great story and I loved every page!

Highly Recommend.

He moved between her legs like a stalking panther and lapped at her pussy. Her eyelids slammed shut.
“No.” His command make her body jerk and her eyes pop back open. “I want you to look at me. Watch me pleasure you. I want to see your eyes when you come.”
The walls of her vagina shook.
“I will have every emotion you produce. I’m greedy that way.” He caressed her with his tongue once more. She arched off the couch, fucking his face. Driving her hips up to meet him as he worked her over, she experienced pleasure unlike any she’d ever known. Fuck, his mouth is magical. Why have I never done this before? He flicked her swollen clit, sending tendrils of pleasure through her body. This man opened up an entire world and offered it to her on a platter.

Shyla Colt grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, but has lived a variety of different places thanks to her wanderlust, interesting careers, and marriage to a United States Marine. She’s always loved books and wrote her very first novel at the age of fifteen. She keeps a copy of her first submission letter on her desk for inspiration.

After a lifetime of traveling, she settled down and knew her time had come to write. Diving into her new career like she does everything else, with enthusiasm, research and a lot of prayers, she had her first book published in June of 2011. As a full-time writer, stay at home mother, and wife, there’s never a dull moment in her household.

She weaves her tales in spare moments and the evenings with a cup of coffee or tea at her side and the characters in her head for company. A self-professed rebel with a pen. Her goal is to diversify romance as she continues to genre hop, and offer up strong female characters.
