After the love of her life walks out the door, Abby Simmons is depressed, run down, and overwhelmed. Working long days as an attorney in a busy firm is sucking the life out of her and Abby feels she is at the end of her rope. Then, a co-worker recommends a new type of spa called Paradise. He promises their therapies will shake off her lethargy and help her to regain her sparkle. Skeptical, but very curious, Abby decides to visit the establishment. At first, what she hears sounds too good to be true, but soon Abby uncovers a whole new world of pleasure that quickly becomes her undoing.

Step behind the door to embark on a journey where surrendering to desire is only the beginning. Welcome to Paradise.

Paradise. What do you think of when you hear, say, or think of that word? For me, it's a beach with crystal clear blue water, with a drink my hand, and my husband by my side. For Abby Simmons, it was simply a place that she could escape from her life, her job, and her boyfriend, Colin. When her paradise falls to the abyss, Abby seems lost in her world, and needs to find an escape.

Abby is a well known lawyer that works for the largest firm in the sleepless city of New Orleans. Basically married to her work, she tries to prove that she has what it takes to make partner with the law firm. When she comes home earlier than anticipated one day to find Colin walking out her, she isn't sure where her life is headed from there. She returns to work where the pompous, heir to the firm, Grayson Murphy, proceeds to tell Abby that people are talking about her, and she needs to her her stuff together - it isn't good for the law firm to have an attorney looking the way she does in court.

Shocked, Abby turns to her close friend, and paralegal, Roman. Roman is a complete kick! I loved him throughout the series, as he always seemed to be Abby's voice of reason for anything, and everything. When Roman tells her of the place called Paradise, she seriously begins to consider giving this pleasure house a chance. When she does, she doesn't expect what happens to have happened at all. Pleasure beyond her wildest dreams.

I really enjoyed the characters throughout the book. Between Abby's determination to find herself, Grayson pushing Abby to the brink of her leaving most of everything behind, and Roman who, again, is a complete kick throughout the series! I loved his advice, and the fact that he kept Abby grounded to who she was, and who she needed to be. He kept her sane throughout the series, and it was nice to have Roman to refer to when even I seemed irritated by things going on in the books!

There is a slight plot twist, and I absolutely loved it. It was not a major plot twist, and I really don't want to give it away to our friends here on the blog! I definitely recommend this serial series, and absolutely enjoyed the entire series. It is a quick, pleasurable read that gets to the point quickly, and leaves you wanting more at the end of each book.

Jogging to my car as pellets of rain stung my arms, I considered if I had finally reached the end of my adventures at Paradise. Moving on would be difficult for me, no matter how sexy Mr. Hands had become in my mind. Jumping into my car, I shook the rain from my skin and eagerly turned over the ignition. Yep, I was ready to get back to my life, and close the door on Paradise for good. Nothing good could come from it. I had a date with James to look forward to, a big case to prepare for, and a life to rebuild. I was done here.

Pulling out of the white-shelled parking lot, I glanced once more through my rearview mirror to the plain red-bricked building growing smaller in the distance. Some fantasies were better left unrealized. Or else you could end up wanting to discover what was behind all the doors in a place like Paradise. Driving along, I kept thinking about the purple door and what would have been waiting for me if I had found the courage to go through it. Flashing back to my bondage experience in the blue room, I felt that heat between my legs take hold. Slowing my car, I pulled over to the curb.

“Fuck!” I shouted, slamming my fist into the steering wheel.

Spinning the wheel, I hit the gas and turned the car around. Spotting the red-bricked building further down Tulane Avenue, I pressed on the gas.

Yeah, desire could be a real bitch.
