What would you do if everything in your life felt wrong, that you had no control over your own fate, like you had married the wrong man? What if, when tragedy strikes, you find out you did.

Mary Alice married Alex Williams of her own free will. Or did she? Trapped, like the white heron she was given as a wedding gift, she finds herself living a lie, while the truth watches silently from the shadows.

She has no idea that a mysterious event has caused her to forget the one man she'd promised to love and cherish forever.

Devoted to her, that man isn't ready to let her go.

They all live in the Shadow of the Heron.

In the Shadow of the Heron was a pleasant read that had a great flow to it. It was a little bit long for my taste BUT if you are a history lover then you will be too interested to notice.

Mary Alice and her father came to the US from Ireland after her mother was murdered. They ended up in in Savannah, Georgia. The story picks up when Mary was eighteen and working at a book store. This is where she meets Frank. He had just finished his time in the Navy and was passing through Savannah on his way to Virginia to go back and help his mother with her farm and his younger siblings.

Frank was absolutely smitten with Mary. I just loved how polite and sweet this young man was. Mary loved those facts about Frank as well and ended up marrying him. However, something weird happens and Mary is swept into this alternate state of mind. Can Frank ever get Mary back?

This is one of the hardest reviews I have ever had to write. I know that it’s short and blunt but so much happens that I can’t even fathom putting it into words. This book is filled with so much information and history that it’s impossible to tell you about it all. I don’t even know where I would begin. I did enjoy the story but it left me with some unanswered questions. It broke my heart repeatedly and cried numerous times. This book was a very heartfelt story of a woman who stood by her husband no matter what the circumstances were. I am not sure I could have done it if I was in her shoes. What I took from this book is to live life to the fullest and not to settle for anyone.

Amber Coplin Memorial Donation Drive
Amber Lynn Coplin was brutally murdered by her boyfriend in Port Orchard, Washington in November. Photos were then callously posted on the internet. She was a devoted mother of FIVE young boys who will now spend this Christmas season without their mother. With permission from the boys’ father, Paul, I am donating a percentage of my book sales through March 20, 2015 to a fund to help ensure that they have all of their physical needs met.

Individual donations can be made through GoFundMe at http://www.gofundme.com/gtq2rc. This is the ONLY fund that I am aware of that directly benefits the five boys. Please join me in supporting the surviving victims of this horrible tragedy.
