Eight months ago Vanessa Saint John’s life was a lot different than it is now…

After losing Gabriel, and the discovery of his and Ava’s indiscretions, Vanessa becomes depressed and turns to partying and alcohol as a distraction.Recognizing that she’s spiraling out of control, she manages to turn her life around. Still, her mother poses as a problem, and like the social climber she is, she fixes Vanessa up with the very rich and affluent Stellen Webb. Vanessa is nothing more than a pawn in her mother’s quest for wealth and recognition, and unknowingly Cynthia pushes Vanessa into the arms of another man; (needs something to describe Diesel here, like her worst nightmare or something) Diesel Knox.

Clean and sober Ava has spent the last eight months in Sicily running away from her problems, until her mother summons her back to Colorado…Reluctantly Ava returns to a broken Vanessa, a bartending job, and an unexpected love interest. Maxwell Gallagher, a much older man, who has a six-year-old son.

Will Vanessa finally break free of her parents grip? And will Ava finally find the happiness she so desperately seeks or will she forever be in the hell of her own making?

OMG this book was amazing!!! Cousins. Family. Death. Teenagers. Boys/Men. Drugs. Sex. It’s all a part of life but when this life just keeps on hitting you with one bad thing after another what’s a girl to do?

Cousins really can be your siblings. They are for Ava and Vanessa. They are as close as sisters until the day their life was changed forever. I almost said ‘until Ava’s life was changed forever’ but it wasn't just her’s that was affected with the death of her father. Everyone suffered, not only the loss of him, but the loss of what was. The loss of the fully intact family.

When Ava’s dad died suddenly - to say it affected her would be a huge understatement. However, the affect it had on Ava’s mom was devastating. She wouldn’t eat or get out of bed or even use the bathroom. She was just gone. They had to move into a crapy apartment and Ava had to do everything. Take complete care of her mom, pay bills, figure out food….everything. Her mom literally checked out. Ava was thirteen!!!

Vanessa’s loss was more in the loss of never seeing Ava. She eventually moved on and became the golden child for her prominent family. Her parents didn’t do anything to help Ava but try to keep her away and hidden. Secret. Can’t have her messing up their lifestyle and embarrassing them. That’s not how Vanessa see’s it but it’s how her parents have been. It’s been five years and Ava is coming back. Her mom is trying to bounce out of her depression and has asked for help. Can Ava forgive her? Can Ava & Vanessa move forward and become the sister’s they used to be?

Ava is beautiful. Turn heads as she walks by beautiful. Vanessa is too but not in the same way Ava is. Vanessa is more innocent/girl next door pretty where as Ava is sex on a stick/life of the party beautiful. Ava hits up a college party as soon as she gets back to town and meets the drop dead gorgeous Gabriel. However, it will be soon revealed that Vanessa has had a huge crush on him for a long time. Will Ava step aside and let her cousin have him? Even though she’s in complete love with him? The massive event that made me gasp and cry will, I’m sure, shock you too.

What I’ve described above is probably 35% of the series. So much happens to this family. Good, bad, sad, happy, love, heartbreak. Will these two cousins get their HEA? There are other guys. Diesel for Vanessa and Maxwell for Ava. But the HEA I’m talking about isn’t just about men for them. They need to be happy in their life all around. Family, work, each other. Reading the story of how they get there and accomplish things is fascinating and only puts me in awe of Olivia Snow!!! Amazing and wonderful story telling!

I can’t really talk about the rest of the series. I don’t want to spoil it for you. I guess it’s a long story…..I wouldn’t have really realized it or known because I could have read it for a lot longer! I read both books in three days!! I couldn’t get enough.

It’s so good!!! The story, the writing, the characters, the FEEL and depth of this book is simply amazing!!! Olivia Snow has another HUGE fan!!! Read this KIS series and I’m sure you will be too!

Highly Recommend!!!!

Vanessa

“What are you doing?” I asked my voice coming out in a breathy whisper.

“Tasting you.” He groaned sucking me off his fingers. Oh. My.

“Is that supposed to turn me on?” My stare glued to his mouth.

“Aw, shit baby don't talk like that, or I’ll say forget this self-restraint bullshit and take you against this damn wall.”

“What if I want you too?” I gripped his belt buckle forcing him back against me.

“Fuck, Vanessa, don’t tell me that.” He groaned resting his forehead against mine.

“Why, Diesel? Don't you want me?” My audacity, I justified, was coming from the orgasm he just gave me.

“Of course I fuckin’ want you, I’ve wanted you since the first time I saw you, but I’m not takin’ you against this wall. When I make you mine, it'll be on a bed while I slowly peel off your clothes. When I can cherish and devour this perfect body of yours because that’s what you deserve, Vanessa, and not a quick fuck against a wall, you deserve to be made love to.” My heart tugged even though getting fingered outside against the wall was very, uh, unromantic, having him say things like that made me trust him and want him even more.

“Okay.” I replied.

“Okay.” He agreed, “I want to dance with you.” He said taking my hand we began walking towards the inside of the house. Which made me wonder why he was here to begin with.

“Wait, why are you here?” I said pulling him back.

“I was invited.” He replied tightening the hold on my hand.

“By who?” Diesel slowed he turned to look at me.

“The girl I was playing beer pong with.” Oh. Oh! He came with another girl a girl he probably already slept with or was going to have sex with. Which made me feel cheap, and then I remembered I had a boyfriend, which made me even feel worse. What was I doing? This wasn't like me. I wasn't this girl. Pulling my hand out of his grasp I hugged myself before speaking.

“I have to find Mallory, I’m not feeling to well.” I said walking away from him.

“Vanessa, no wait. It's not what you're thinkin’. I just needed a distraction I need somethin’ to do than to think about you all day.” He said curling his hand around my arm to stop me.

“You mean someone to do.” I said yanking my arm free.

“You have a boyfriend, what am I supposed to do, Vanessa?” He loved to remind me.

“I know okay! I know I have a boyfriend.” I covered my face frustrated that I did. Ashamed that I just let Diesel do that to me, while there was still Stellen in the picture.

“I want to be with you, and it sure as hell seems you want to be with me. So, cut that chump loose so we can be together.”

“It's not that easy, Diesel. You don't understand.” I sighed my hands falling to my sides. Diesel looked at me in defeat, “fuck,” he sighed rubbing is face. “Give me a call when it gets easy.” Diesel walked away, and worse yet, I let him.
