Lexi Starr is an 18 year old college student with a simple life, excellent grades, and a sweet boyfriend. She always has things planned out ahead of time, until she meets a rude boy named Derek, with too many tattoos and piercings who shatters her plans.

What do you get when you mix goody two shoes, Alexis Starr with tattooed bad boy, Derek? A goody two shoes who wants to break all the rules. Alexis Starr has just started college at CalU. Her roommate, Maddy is a little on the crazy side (according to Lexi); parties, tattoos, hangovers, and staying out late are a few of Maddy's favorite things. Lexi tries to go with the flow, but just can't bring herself to do so - her mother would be appalled if she knew what Lexi was out doing on the weekends with the crazy bunch of tattooed friends that she has made while being away.

Derek enters the scene, and immediately pisses Lexi off with everything that he does. Breathing in the shared dorm room with Maddy? Pisses her off. Smug smirk that he gives when he knows she's pissed off at him? Even more pissed off. Until the night that Derek finds Lexi hiding in the bathroom crying. That's when things turn, and Lexi learns that the resident tattooed bad boy may not be all that bad after all.

Lexi's plan was simple - get to college, graduate with outstanding grades, and try to stay with her boyfriend, Kris. She is torn between the two as the book comes to close - does she stay with Kris, the man who her parents will accept, and she knows she will be unhappy with in just a short while? Or does she go against what everyone else wants for her, and do what she thinks is best for her?

I enjoyed reading Tatted Love. While I typically don't like the bad boy gets the goody two shoes girl, I feel that Kathryn Jacob put a different twist on things. While the beginning was harder to get into than most books that I have enjoyed, it was well worth it in the end. Kathryn Jacob made sure to make her characters feel a connection to the reader - we've all been between a rock and a hard spot when it comes to big life decisions. While many questions went unanswered in the first installment of the Tatted Series, I am excited to see what Kathryn brings to the table in the coming books.

I don’t know if I am begging him to let me go or kiss me. My breath hasn’t slowed yet and his is increasing. Seconds feel like minutes and he removes one of his hands form my worst but his outer is large enough to hold both. For a quick second, I think he is going to slap me but moves his hand up my cheekbone and gently tucks my hair behind my ear. I swear I can feel his pulse as his lips to mine causing fires to erupt in my belly. I swear this is the feeling I have been waiting for and I have longed for since Saturday night. If only I could feel this ever day. I don’t let myself think about why I am kissing him or what he will say after.

All I focus on is the way he let go of my wrist and pressed his body against mind. The way my tongue somehow follows his and my hands wrap themselves around his next as my legs wrap around his waist. I bury my fingers into his gently tugging at it as he moans.

Kathryn Jacob was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Before getting into writing she showed the All American Quarter horses around the world. Kathryn has won many prizes. After she sold her sat horse in August 2013, she decided to start writing. Who knew that it would take her a year to release Mated to the Alpha. This is a huge accomplishment for a 19 year old girl and to this day she will continue to write.
