Max “Slick” Jones has never led an easy life. He’s rough, hardened and tatted on the outside and never once thought that he deserved to be loved. Despite his upbringing, he’s dedicated his life to helping others. When his old friend Asher Wellington calls upon his services, he drops everything knowing he has a lifetime of debt to fulfill to this family. But, what he didn’t expect was to meet Chloe.

Chloe Peters grew up in a privileged, picture perfect life with amazing parents and her twin brother, Kyle. She and Kyle were living out their lifelong dream until one second, one moment in time changed everything and sent her into a tailspin she thought she could never recover from.

Will the exchange of deep dark pain in the eyes of two hardened souls open the door to a happily ever after?

Can Max show Chloe that there can be life after tragedy? Can Chloe Show Max that he is worthy of love?

Sometimes the hardest person to forgive, is yourself.

This is a mature audience book, and is intended for adults only.

WOW! I really love this series!!!! It’s sooooo good!!! It’s such a sweet, quick, satisfying read. Annalisa Nicole has a way with her story telling, creating an environment that brings couples together and families stronger all in the name of love and romance.

Chloe and Max have been in the last few books as back characters in the story. I’m so glad to finally get their story and it’s such a wonderful ride. It just might be my favorite yet!

Chloe has had a very hard time in her short adult life. She had an amazing childhood and wonderful college with her twin brother Kyle. Twins are very close anyway but Kyle and Chloe are very close. They went to the same college and have both become Gynecologist.

We know from past books about the delivery event that changed the course of Chloe’s life and that of Kyle’s although not exactly the same. Being taken and held for three years affected Chloe deeply. She begins to heal with therapy and getting back to being a Dr. again. But what really made her heal was Max. He saved her and since then they have been together every day. Chloe knows she’s in love with him and with him she’s been able to heal.

Max is a private investigator, owning his own company. After going in and rescuing Chloe he has been choosing his cases in order to be there for her. Not going out of town nearly as much and trying to stay on the up & up. Some of the things he’s had to do in his career are borderline illegal. Not that it was necessary or deserved but still…..a bit shady. He’s pretty sure he’s in love with Chloe and has made it his mission to keep her safe - no matter what that means.

He decides, after second guessing himself and putting Chloe in harms way, that he needs to let her go so she can move on and find someone that isn’t going to potentially hurt her. He’s convinced himself that him, and his job, isn’t good enough for her.

He breaks up with her. He breaks her. Like serious depression, no eating, no sleeping……broken. She goes to work for 16 hours or so and goes home to sleep where she barely does that because of her dreams. The entire family is worried that she’s gone. She’s not seeing her therapist anymore either.

Even though Chloe isn’t seeing Max any longer, Max is still seeing her. He’s constantly watching over her or has one of his employees watching over her. If she gets into trouble he’s there to make sure she’s ok. He’s looking after her but he’s not happy about what he’s seeing. He realizes he’s made a huge mistake. Will Chloe forgive him? Is she still even there to forgive him or has her depression become too much? What will Max do? He’s gonna have to get creative and he’s afraid the process is going to her her before it helps.

This book is amazing. It’s heartbreaking and tears were streaming several times! But it’s definitely worth the Kleenex. If you’ve read any of these books, please comment with your favorite!!! I think this just might be mine. The love and warmth and the romance of it is just amazing!!

Highly Recommend!!!!

She walks over to the window, pulls back the sheer white curtain, and stares out into what seems like nothingness. She places her forehead on the glass and slowly shakes it back and forth. I can’t stand to see her like this. I walk across the room and stand behind her. I question whether or not I should even touch her. My hand hovers over her arm as the hairs stand on end, begging me for my touch. Her mind is telling her no, but her body is crying out to me, begging me for help. Ever so softly I touch the back of her arms. She jumps and picks her head off the window, but doesn’t shrug it away. I run my hand down the back of her arms and bury my nose in the crook of her neck. I feel the goose bumps forming on her arms and I hear her breathing increase. I know she’s still in this broken shell. I know if I don’t do something now, I risk the possibility of never freeing her from her demons. And I know just what I need to do.

I am an “Indie” contemporary romance author. I live in California with my husband and two teenage boys. I absolutely love being a stay at home mom.

I never liked reading as a kid. I only started reading romance novels in the past few years. My Kindle and I are inseparable now. A thought occurred to me in December of 2012 that maybe I could write a romance novel. So I went to work with the encouragement of my husband and my sister-in-law. It didn’t take long to figure out that I really enjoy writing.

Today I am a self-published author and it has been an amazing journey.
