Breaking free from a world where everyone views you as a little girl is tough work. Alayna has been fighting to be seen as a woman since she came home from college. When the beast that haunts Alayna’s dreams catches her in his private library, things start to change.

“Roses will lead you to her.” Those simple words have tortured Marcus for years. He has hidden the man behind the beast, showing the world only what he thinks they want to see—until he finds the one who can accept him.

Untamed passion brings Marcus and Alayna together. Will a secret break them apart?

As soon as we crossed into the tent, the burn of strong incense made my eyes water. Madame Miranda was sitting at a small table complete with Tarot cards and a crystal ball. She was old and craggy, and when she spoke, her coarse voice made a chill run up my spine.
“I’ve been expecting you boys. I have something to tell you.”
Since it was Myles’ idea to enter the tent, we made him go first. My brain was too foggy from cheap beer to process what she was saying to him, but he went as white as a ghost and shot out of his chair.
“Marcus, come sit down and give me your hand,” she said, and my heart picked up. How does she know my name? “Do as you are told, beast!”
Shit. She knows my nickname too, I thought.

I sat across from her, and she grasped my hand in hers, running her dry, bony fingers along my palm. “Yes, Marcus, you are quite a beast. But you will find your soul mate in due time. Roses will lead you to her.” She looked up at me and as her eyes bored into mine she gripped my hand tighter. “But be careful, beast. If you keep secrets from your belle rose, your love will fall like petals in winter and you will risk losing her forever.”

"Don't tell me what to do Marcus.  I'm a grown woman and you all need to stop treating me like a kid. This is my life and I will do with it what I want."  Alayna.

We meet Alayna as she is working in a seem shop doing adjustments to suits.  As a lonely man walks in she notices how sad he looks.  She is unaware that this is the exact man that has broken her sisters heart.  He is so convincing that he gets her to agree to go to a party that he is throwing, unknown to her what his true plans are.  When Alayna attends the party she sees Marcus and is immediately intrigued with him.  What she doesn't know is that he is Tessa's ex boyfriend's best friend.  But, her heart doesn't care or need to know that information.

Fast forward several months and Alayna is moving to California to live with Tessa and Reese.  She is going to help them open Tessa's new bar Seven Sins.  She again meets Marcus except this time he vows to himself that she is off limits due to being Tessa's little sister.  Again the heart doesn't care to listen.

We watch this group take Alayna in with open arms and soon she is "one of them". But, the problem is, is that they all seem to see her as the "little" sister, not the woman she really is.  This drives her crazy and she finds ways to buck against them.  Will this bring her closer to her desire, or push her farther away?

This book was a quick read for me.  Even though it was not a short story I seemed to read it quicker than I do most books.  That being said I don't know whether is was because it really got into it, or it just seemed to flow smoothly.  This book had several different angles about it, one is the need to feel accepted, one is the need to free your inner self, another is the want to find love, and the last is overcoming fear.  I liked the story, but felt as if it was missing that personal connection that pulls you in and allows you to feel the romance between the characters.  For the types of relationships that was written within the story I felt as if the characters needed to be a bit more defined.  It felt more of a coming of age story than one that was about a man with a deep hunger for sex and a strong sexual desire.  For me, like I said I liked the story, but I did not feel a connection with it and felt that the characters needed to be a little more in depth with their wants, desires, and overall feelings and actions.  The story was good, it just needed a little more umph to it.
