The story before the love story….

When he lost the only woman he’d ever loved, it seemed there was nothing left to live for.

Even as a boy, all Ben Covington ever wanted was to spend forever with Dahlia London, the beautiful girl next door...then one life-altering decision tore them apart and he was forced to leave her.

Now, despite having returned to win her back, he’s still alone. She’s with someone else—someone she’s never going to leave.

Resigned to a future without his former girlfriend, Ben numbs his broken heart in a haze of liquor and women. But then the only woman who ever even turned his head while he was with his girl reappears unexpectedly. And he’s never forgotten their one incredible night together. But will Ben’s destructive behavior destroy his future with her before it even begins?

I don't know how she did it but Kim Karr actually made me care about Ben Covington.  I mean, it's not that I ever hated him really but after the way that he completely devastated Dahlia's life in Connected I was pretty much going to be Team River no matter what but in Blurred you get to peek inside Ben's head and get a glimpse at the why's of what he did. You get a glimpse of the broken man left behind after his faked death.  Ben has not been the same person he was and how could he be.  He went off to New York to live a supposed life as a Professor, managed to find a girlfriend after enough years passed and then he ditched that life like he did the former one all over again the second he was given the green light to return to California, to Dahlia.

Finding out that Dahlia was moments away from heading off to Vegas to get married to the other guy was a slug in the gut.  Then his Mom passes away and Ben's life really takes a tumble.  On a journey to find himself, Ben leaves Laguna Beach and the US all together and heads to Australia for 6 months to find himself.  On the most famous beach for surfers, Bondi Beach, Ben discovers a little more about himself, he accomplishes things he hasn't in a long while and he centers himself.  Armed with the knowledge that his time in Australia is ending and he'll soon have to testify in the trial that will bring down the men that ended his original life, he heads back stateside to prepare and get his life in order.

With little to no money in the bank and a lifestyle he sorely misses, he grovels to get his old job back.  To make a little coin he takes the position as a journalist for the Wedding section and covers a celebrities wedding when he is thrown back into the orbit of Bell Wilde or S'belle as Ben has known her since college.  It's here we find out what really happened between S'belle and Ben all those years ago.  Some will hate Ben for what he did to Dahl but I wasn't one of them.  Yes, cheating is bad and nobody should do it.  But drunk, faced with the flesh of a bombshell red head, S'belle proves to be too provocative of a temptation to pass up.  Sparks fly and passions ignite when these two come together one night and never again but the memory has seared its way into Ben's psyche and he's never been able to shake the fiery redhead with the emerald green stare.  Bell of course wants nothing to do with him anytime they meet but I have a feeling all will work out in the end when we meet these two again in Frayed, releasing in September.

Kim Karr is an absolutely amazing story teller.  How she's managed to turn so many into Ben Covington lovers, I don't know but she even made a lover out of me.  She has a way of getting you to connect (pun intended) with her characters.  You feel their every emotion as if its your own.  Connecting all the dots that you get from each story is an incredible feeling as well.  Those "ah ha" moments where a character bumps into or explains something about another character we know and love from one of the other Connections novels/novellas is nothing short of awesome.  I'm a huge fan of Kim's work and of her as a person.  I had the amazing privilege of being able to sit with Kim at the Chicago Author Event that took place back in May and let me tell you, she's the most beautiful soul inside and out!  I had so much fun getting to know her and I look forward to hopefully having the privilege again one day.  If you ever see her at a signing, stop by and grab the entire Connections Series, trust me, you won't be disappointed!

I live in Florida with my husband and four kids. I've always had a love for reading books and writing. Being an English major in college, I wanted to teach at the college level but that was not to be. I went on to receive an MBA and became a project manager until quitting to raise my family. I currently work part-time with my husband and full-time embracing one of my biggest passions—writing.

I wear a lot of hats! Writer, book-lover, wife, soccer-mom, taxi driver, and the all around go-to person of the family. However, I always find time to read. One of my favorite family outings use to be taking my kids to the bookstore or the library. Today, my oldest child is in college and my twins are juniors so they no longer go with me on these outings. And although I don't need to go to the actual store anymore because I have the greatest device ever invented—a Kindle, I still do. There's nothing like a paperback. So now my four year old and I make dates out of going to the bookstore--it's time I love and cherish.

I like to believe in soulmates, kindred spirits, true friends, and Happily-Ever-Afters. I love to drink champagne, listen to music, and hopes to always stay young at heart.

Connected was my debut novel and is currently available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble , iTunes and Kobo.

Torn is the sequel to Connected and was just released on October 1st, 2013. It is available for purchase on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, iTunes, and Kobo.

To see the remaining books in the series, check out my Goodreads page.

I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoyed writing them.
