Singing in the shower takes on a whole new meaning in Melissa Pearl's first Contemporary Romance.

Ella Simmons does not want to move across the country. But she is, because her boyfriend has persuaded her to join him at UChicago to finish out her college education. Never able to tell him no, she hops on a plane and makes the trek from LA expecting to adjust to life like she's often forced to, but things are not that simple when she hears a luscious voice singing over her shower wall. His deep, sexy tenor makes her weak in the knees, spreading fire through her limbs and making her question everything about her life and relationship.

Can one voice really have that much of an impact?

Cole Reynolds is on his way out. In his final year at UChicao, the only this he wants to do is finish school and get on with this life. But the sweet voice that interrupts his morning shower turns his world upside down. Compelled to find his shower songbird, he begins a search across campus. The only thing to distract him from this goal is his roommate's gorgeous girlfriend who's just arrived from LA - Ella Simmons.

Relationships are put to the ultimate test as future dreams are questioned and friendships are thrown on the line for love.

Have you ever just felt lost? Like you are the one person that got to have all the bad shit happen to you? I mean we all have our selfish days or times and they last for different lengths for different people. But you hear some people’s stories and think, ‘dang I’ve got it good’! That’s what goes through my mind when I think about this book.

Ella is really just a mess. However, she’s not nearly as much of a mess as she thinks - she has a strength that she suppresses in order to feel safe. After her
parents died and she ended up with a horrible Aunt she goes into her own head like a frightened turtle. Her best friends and only family since her parents died are Morgan & Jody and they support her and talk her through all her issues. And then there’s David - her safety. She clings to him because he's helped her so much in the past and she feels safe with him. But he doesn’t bring her the F-E-V-E-R…

Cole lost his parents too and ended up in foster care which might have been better for Ella and ended up being really great for Cole. However, after his own grandparents told him they didn’t want him, he tends to believe he’s just that kind of person - unwanted.

Until he hears the most beautiful voice he’s ever heard singing “Cheek To Cheek” in the shower. He’s
in the men’s dorm showers and Ella is in the women’s. She’s singing and he starts along with her. Not only are there only two people who even know she can sing - she’s never sang in front of a stranger. Just from hearing his voice she’s all hot and giddy.

Will she find out who her mystery singing partner is? Can she leave the safety of David to pursue something that SHE really wants? Even if that will break his heart?

Ella and Cole have a love that is instant and I loved this book!! It’s such a wonderful love story. The book reads easy and has a great pace to it. The back characters are great and only add to the building of the main characters. I highly recommend, Fever!
