A jaded Chicago reporter in her twenties unexpectedly finds love in Napa Valley when she’s assigned to spend a week with a famously reclusive genius in this rich and deeply satisfying contemporary romance by the USA TODAY bestselling author of Sweet Thing.

Kate Corbin has lost her spark. A year ago, she had a handsome boyfriend and a budding career as a reporter at a popular Chicago newspaper. But after the woman who raised her passed away, leaving her lost and alone, she fell into a rut—and never got out. Now she’s stuck writing fluff pieces about lipstick and wine, and feeling trapped in a relationship that’s going nowhere.

Trusting that the hungry, ace reporter is buried somewhere deep inside, Kate’s boss and mentor gives her the opportunity to jump-start her career. The assignment: spend a week interviewing R. J. Lawson, a famously reclusive tech genius who disappeared years ago but recently reemerged as the owner of a well-respected Napa Valley winery.

Kate jumps at the chance, but the trip begins in disaster, both personally and professionally. After alienating R.J., her only saving grace is Jamie, a charming vineyard hand who shows her the beauty of wine country—and stirs her aching heart. It doesn’t take long for Kate and Jamie to fall hard, and for Kate to rethink her life in the city. But the week ends with a heartbreaking journey back to Chicago that sends Kate reeling, wondering what went wrong in those four perfect days.

Beautiful, beautiful, BEAUTIFUL!! Wow, this book was amazing. And that cover, is so gorgeous!
Kate Corbin sure has been through a lot in her life and she is only in her twenties. Losing both her mother and her mother’s best friend, she has no family to turn to. Kate does have some amazing friends from the paper she works for. Jerry, her boss being one of those friends actually takes Kate under his wing and seems more like a father figure. He sends her to Napa Valley in California to do a story he has been trying to acquire for a few years in hopes that Kate will move on from the funk she’s in. Having a horrible boyfriend, Kate jumps at the chance to get away.
Kate is to get the scoop on the R.J. Lawson, a very successful, rich, tech nerd that disappeared to the public eye for a while. He popped up in Napa Valley after buying a vineyard but still tried his hardest to keep under the radar. This will prove be a challenge for Kate to get the scoop she needs.

Upon pulling into the vineyard she crashes her rental car into a truck in the driveway. This is when we meet Jamie. Can we say swoon!! Jamie is a handsome, tattooed, down to earth guy that melts your heart the second you meet him. There is a spark between Kate and Jamie instantaneously and boy is he a charmer.

Jamie works for the vineyard and seems to do a little bit of everything there. He is Kate’s tour guide but the attraction I mentioned previously only grows stronger between the two as time goes on. Kate is only there for a few days and the R.J. Lawson is proving that he is absent more than available so Jamie shows her the ropes of the vineyard.

As Jamie and Kate start to get close Jamie all the sudden leaves. Kate is very hurt by this and leaves in a rush back to Chicago. She ends up writing the article in anger with hopes that Jerry doesn’t fire her for not getting the scoop that he had sent Kate to get. But if the boss man isn’t around, how can she?

I am leaving a lot out of this review because I want you, the reader, to be surprised while reading this book. So much happens and I feel as if I will give away so much by telling you. This book was an amazing love story that will truly melt your heart. It was sad at times but I found myself laughing a lot. I absolutely loved the chemistry of the characters and how Jamie was the biggest gentleman to Kate. I think that is what made Jamie so sexy, who doesn’t love a gentleman? Not only was the book amazingly sweet, but it sure was sexy too.

I couldn’t put this book down. I read at night when I go to bed so I found myself wanting to go to bed early and staying up all night just to read. If you want to read a feel good, downright addicting book this one is for you. If you have read any of Renee’s previous books then you know what an amazing writer she is, if not you MUST pick up a copy today.
