All Keegan wanted was a roommate who was quiet, minded their own business, and paid for part of the rent. Instead, she got Camden Brooks.

Camden, with his sinful body, sharp tongue, and the inability to stay out of Keegan’s personal business, couldn’t seem to curb his interest in the new girl who wouldn’t put up with his domineering ways.

Feelings were running rampant, sexual tension was thick, and both were struggling to let go of control.

To some people, getting a roommate simply meant living with another person. But to both Camden and Keegan it was a curveball that neither was prepared to swing at.

I finished Bender yesterday and I'm still blown away.  I freaking absolutely loved this novel.  I could tell from Chapter 1 that I was going to love it and love the series, that is how amazing it is.  I've never read anything by Stacy Borel before and I'm so glad I hoarded this one for myself.  The Core Four will be my new guilty pleasure.

Keegan is a twenty year old female who is still living at home with her mother and eight year old sister while she attends The University of Georgia pursuing a degree in Nursing.  She's more of a mother to young Sarah and constantly feels like she's playing the roll of mother to her own mother whom has always been more interested in partying, saying she's working late and leaving Keegan to raise her sister much the way that she raised herself.  Fed up with her mother's antics and needing some space to better her own life and put her focus on her degree, she sets off with her best friend Macie to find a place to live.  Of course she works part time so she will need a roommate.  She picks up a couple numbers and after a few horrible glimpses into what a roommate could be like, she heads off for door number three.

Camden Brooks seems like a hard ass up front.  He is over six feet of pure Alpha male.  He's a gym owner, a business he took over when his father retired and left the business to him and his three brothers.  Camden was the only one that wanted the responsibility of taking on the business so this is his life, seven days a week.  He works himself silly, he never keeps a relationship for long and he rarely brings women home.  The women he dates typically look like Barbie and probably have the collective brain cells of one as well.  So when he meets Keegan, naturally he scoffs at a chick roommate and insults her, calling her "the chubby one" since she's sitting next to her stick figure thin best friend as she signs her lease.  He's fiercely protective of all those that are lucky enough to be loved by him, the question is, can Camden overcome his horrible first impression, making fun of a woman who already has self image issues?

I absolutely adored Macie, Keegan's sister Sarah and Camden's brother Dodger.  The way that Camden and Dodger protect Sarah and play the Father figure to her is just toe curling and melt your heart beautiful.  I grinned like a fool watching these two fall all over themselves over the little girl.  Macie is feisty and her relationship with Dodger is an interesting one.  We'll hopefully see more of these two in the future.

The story that Stacy wrote isn't terribly unique but what is unique is the feisty side of both Camden and Keegan.  He's a dominant, straight up but not in a BDSM way.  That's not what this book is about.  But what it is about is one hot as shit Alpha male and his brand of love and loyalty.  These two fight and have such passion toward one another. They fight what they have but when they are together prepare to fan yourself and change your panties ladies.  I absolutely adored the interactions between Camden and his brothers (Turner, Dodger and Wrigley).  We'll get a book each on the Core Four and Turner is up next.  There's a small glimpse into what his book will be like and I absolutely can't wait till later this summer for the sequel, Slider.

Stacy discovered Indie Authors in early 2012 after reading Fifty Shades of Grey, and there began her passionate love affair with books. She always wrote stories and journals growing up, but she decided in December 2012 to really dip her toes in the water with a romance novel. She now has three full length novels under her belt, and a whole new series for the 2014 year.
