He wanted her to help him win his ex-girlfriend back. She wanted to teach him a few lessons on how to treat a woman. Neither one planned for the unexpected.
She’s gone. I’m desperate and going insane. I’ll do whatever it takes to find her. I don’t know when I fell for her, but I won’t let her go. What has she done to me? I’m Rick Marin, for crying out loud. I don’t chase women…but she’s not just any woman. She’s Maddy—my Maddy—and I need her.

I couldn’t stand by and watch. I have to run fast and far to get away and forget him. He weaseled his way into my life, making me question rules I live by, and he turned my orderly life upside down. I’m falling apart and coming undone. I don’t do that. I will not allow a man to derail me. I’m Madison Stuart. I live life by my rules.

WOW! I really enjoyed these books! I read The Do-Over so that I could read It’s Not Over for this blog tour. I wouldn’t consider them stand alone mainly because Rick’s entire past in in the first book. This continue’s Rick story with Madison.

Madison runs Martini Bar - all by herself. She’s amazing at it mainly because she’s what people would call a woman like her a bitch. That’s the label that is put on any female that is confident and who doesn’t let anyone run all over her. She leads with firm decisions that she expects to be fulfilled. What we don’t know about her is her past and it’s one hell of a past.

Rick is just off his quest to get back his old girlfriend, Daniela. During this process Maddy became his BFF and helped him to be not such an asshole. Well, at least now he’s an asshole with manners and somewhat gentlemanly. She coached him on how to win her back. Rick realizes that his life with Daniela wasn’t meant to be, mainly because he’s falling for Maddy.

Rick does everything for his Maddy. He knows how she wants to be treated and he knows her many moods. He follows her to NYC, meets her family, defends her honor, takes her out, buys her favorite desserts but most importantly he catches her when she falls.

This whirlwind relationship has many problems and lots of issues arise between the both of them. Can an asshole and a bitch fall in love and live happily ever after? Will Maddy lighten up and let Rick be the man that wants to be for her? Will Rick understand how important her career is to her?

Again, I loved this book. It’s funny and entertaining. The banter between the two of them is awesome! The supporting characters are either great or ones you just enjoy hating. Ms. Zaun did a fantastic job writing a story that is completely believeable. They both have well-off families but neither are really billionaires as so many stories today are. Rick & Maddy are characters that you can relate to.

Do not miss this great story. There is a bit of a cliffhanger but I’ll go ahead and tell you it’s not a break up type of cliffhanger….just that their story obviously continues. Look for Let It Go to come out this summer.

A.L. Zaun graduated from Florida International University with a degree in English Literature when the dinosaurs roamed the earth and cellphones were the size of a brick. Her impressive degree did absolutely nothing for her professional endeavors in health care management but did stir her imagination and opened up the world of books in a new way.

Armed with a large bottle of Diet Pepsi and a multi-pack of Extra Sugar-Free gum, A.L. Zaun spends her evenings bringing to life the characters that dominate her thoughts and interrupt her sleep.

  1. Loved it. An asshole with manners LOL!! that is a good way of looking at it.
