A tattoo gets them in trouble… He will get them out.

After years of cultivating an undercover identity, Brody West is finally off the case and free to live a life of his own. All that time spent in the company of criminals and killers left him a little jaded… and with an identity crisis. He isn’t sure who he is anymore, or who he wants to be.

To give him time to think, he takes a few days off to go fishing. On his way out of town, he makes a routine stop at the bank and finds himself flirting with the girl behind the counter.

But his flirtation is cut short when criminals burst into the bank and shoot her right before his eyes.

In attempt to administer first aid, Brody reveals a tattoo on his upper arm. A mark that will drag him and the girl into the kind of situation he was trying to get away from. But he can’t walk away because he’s the only thing capable of keeping Taylor alive and bringing down the guys who shot her—guys who are seriously dangerous.

Cambria Hebert has done it again with her amazing ability to produce a romance under the most dire circumstances.  Each story is so deliciously unique and inviting, I just can't bring myself put the book down.  This is the seventh novel in the Take It Off Series but they do not have to be read in order, its very important to remember this so you don't get put off by seeing #7 in the title above and decide you don't have time to read the series.  Trust me when I say, this is one series though that you will find time to read all seven because from what I've read (Text, Tricks and now Tattoo) they are each equally worth reading!

In this installment, we follow Brody and Taylor as they come into contact under the most dire and exhausting circumstances.  Brody has just wrapped up a long case where he was under cover with a huge band of criminals.  Now that the ring leader is behind bars, Brody is ready for a much needed vacation, but fate it seems has a twisted sense of humor and has other plans for him.  He walks into a bank to pick up some cash for his fishing trip on his way out of town when he comes into contact with a redheaded siren (Taylor) working at the bank.  In walks a merry band of thugs that have fallen on hard times now that their ring leader is behind bars and have decided that desperate times call for desperate measures and they need capital to continue their criminal ventures.

Taylor refuses to fall down and play the damsel in distress, much to Brody's dismay.  He wishes this particular siren would have stayed out of harms way, but to no avail, she ends up taking a bullet and Brody is thrown into action.  For some reason he feels the need to protect this particular woman.  While tending to his wounds, the merry band of idiots there to take over the bank Taylor works for, sees the tattoo Brody has on his back, signaling to thugs like them, that he belongs with them.  Brody must now protect Taylor and do the only thing he knows how to do well, go with the thugs, take Taylor with them and keep her alive until he can get his fellow uniforms to come break up this party.

As their story continues, no matter what happens, Brody will lay his life down on the line for this woman that completely confounds him.  He can't reconcile her dainty girly side with her kick ass, defiant side.  They are a really beautiful couple.  She's led a really sheltered life and he's a good guy in bad boy packaging.  He's spent most of his adult life under cover, severing personal ties and living amongst the filth of the earth.

Like I said before, Tattoo and the rest of the Take It Off series are all uniquely wonderful reads and all equally lovable, touching and deliciously sexy (yes there is sex in these novels and each of them brings a great deal of HEAT)!   Do yourself a favor and indulge in Tattoo and enjoy Brody and Taylor's love story!

Cambria Hebert is the author of the young adult paranormal Heven and Hell series, the new adult Death Escorts series, and the new adult Take it Off series. She loves a caramel latte, hates math and is afraid of chickens (yes, chickens). She went to college for a bachelor’s degree, couldn’t pick a major, and ended up with a degree in cosmetology. So rest assured her characters will always have good hair. She currently lives in NorthCarolina with her husband and children (both human and furry) where she is plotting her next book.
