Making daggers out of raindrops is only the tip of the iceberg for Brooke Bonham. As one of four women who can control the elements, her ability to manipulate water packs a deluge of potential. Eager to learn more, she’s frustrated at the precautions she must take to avoid the wrong kind of attention on Earth.

Kai's duties as a Lash demon have kept him busy on Earth for nearly two hundred years. Fighting? He was born to do it. Females? They're drawn to him. And Earth? The perfect place for him to avoid supernatural bounty hunters.

Though the two of them mix like oil and water, Kai senses that beneath Brooke’s frosty exterior hides a vortex of simmering passion. He’s determined to thaw his ice princess.

Forced to work together in the immortal realm, they track a rogue Lash demon at the helm of a widespread kidnapping operation. All too soon, Kai’s dark past catches up to them. Time runs out as a second enemy, bent on revenge, vows to stop at nothing short of Brooke’s enslavement and Kai’s death. As they and their foes stalk each other in a demonic game of cat-and-mouse, will her evolving skills and their fledgling bond be enough to save them?

What an incredible journey this series is taking me on.  I haven't stayed up until 1 am reading a book in a while but I could not put Wicked Waves down last night.  Sharon Kay did a stellar job at taking Brooke and Kai on an amazing, terrifying and heroic journey.  Many of you probably haven't read Wicked Wind (Book 1) yet, and that's okay because I'm about to tell you what you're missing out on and why you need to pick this series up today.

The Solsti Prophecy at first was a little difficult for me to get into, only because I'd been away from Paranormal Romance for too long.  Once I got into Wicked Wind (Book 1) I couldn't put the book down. Now yes, I had to table the story for a little while due to other blog commitments but once I came back to Gunnar and Nicole's story, it was like revisiting old friends you haven't seen in a while.  It felt awesome to get back to them and see how their story unfolded.  So when Sharon asked me to review Book 2, I was over the moon but had a few books to get through first.  Some were complete duds, so imagine the grin on my face when I got to come back to this wonderful, magical and dangerous world and read Brooke and Kai's story.

Kai has seemingly hated Brooke since the day the Lash Demons were informed that the Solsti are no longer a myth.  Instead, they are sisters, who grew up in Chicago.  Two of them, Nicole (Wind) and Brooke (Water), cherish their differences from other humans and have honed their gifts, while their sister Gin (short for Virginia) has forsaken her gift of Fire as a curse.  Brooke doesn't want to live at Demon Central as she refers to the house the Lash Demons inhabit.  She prefers to stay at the condo her sister shared with her for years. So, the demons warded the building to add protection for the Solsti who refuses to live under their watchful eye.

Brooke works too much, she gets home at all hours of the night but Kai is always there in the shadows looking out for her even though Kai himself doesn't understand the draw to this particular Solsti, with the fiery attitude who has been nothing but rude to him at every small encounter they've had.

"He couldn't explain his need to ensure her safety.  She hadn't been threatened and held no affection for him.  He snorted.  Ice Princess. Cold as hell.  That's when she wasn't shooting him a death glare or looking at him like he was a bug stuck to her shoe."

But when a Neshi Demon appears out of the blue on Earth, the Lash Demons decide that someone must go to Torth to look for a rare flower that grows in the wastelands where Kai grew up.  A flower that can turn the tide on Earth if more Neshi ever show up.  He and Brooke get thrown together to complete the task.  But, Murphy's Law is real for a reason because anything that can go wrong will go wrong to these two lonely individuals and will force them to protect each other with their lives.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, if you're not reading this series, pick up a copy today.  Sharon Kay is a master story teller in my book.  Their story is lightweight and flirtatious one minute, rude and ridiculous the next and then steamy in the blink of an eye.  The heat between these two is off the charts even when they've been so icy to one another for so long.  The suspense and the way that Sharon interweaves bits of the story from Wicked Wind is incredible.  I love those "ah ha" moments of clarity when a character shows up from Book 1 and you find out where they play into the story.  I am still trying to piece together the bits about the 4th sister that they know to have died when they were younger.  That's what makes this series great.  I'm kept on my toes, I'm begging for more and I can't wait for Book 3!

Born with the ability to command the wind, Nicole Bonham dispenses her own brand of vigilante justice in Chicago’s worst neighborhoods. Stealth and surprise are always on her side.

Lash demon Gunnar prowls Earth and several supernatural realms to help maintain peace among the immortal species. His chance encounter with Nicole creates a hurricane of sparks between them, and he won’t rest until she is his.

They race to solve a series of supernatural attacks in the city. Nicole’s true identity brings the attention of the crazed demon behind them, even as her passion for Gunnar binds them together, body and soul.

Nicole has become the one thing Gunnar can’t live without. Yet facing their worst enemy may destroy her. Gunnar must put aside past tragedy and trust that through her ability and their bond, she has brought myth to life.

Sharon Kay was bitten early by the writing bug. At age twelve she wrote a short story, about a magic ring, that won a statewide contest. With her nose always in a book, she read the most novels for her age group in her local library's summer reading program.

Sharon lives in the Chicago area with her husband and son, and didn't expect to write again. But Wicked Wind and the Solsti series formed in her head one weekend and refused to stay quiet until she put pen to paper. Her characters tend to keep her up at night, as they banter, fall in love, and slay endless varieties of power-hungry demons. She loves to hear from readers!
