Rock star River Wilde brought Dahlia London back from the brink of hopelessness with his unwavering love and devotion. But their entwined history is about to test the strength of that love…

Dahlia was certain she had found true love and met her ‘Once in a Lifetime’ when she reconnected with River. But Dahlia’s world comes crashing down when someone from her past resurfaces, and all of River’s carefully hidden secrets are exposed.

River wants to show Dahlia that life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass—it’s about dancing in the rain! But how many times can one broken heart be mended? Will River and Dahlia be able to face the turmoil together or will they be torn apart?

Wow so I'm not even going to summarize what happened in Torn because the synopsis above pretty much says it all.  I will WARN you though, don't read this review any further if you haven't read Connected because I'm going to spoil that overwhelming cliffhanger ending pretty quickly.

Okay now that they're all gone let's get to the meat and potatoes of this review and flip out for a second because BEN is alive, that's right ... not dead.  Now, I did sort of predict this but the way in which it happened definitely left me in a WTF state.  Now, for all those of you who read Connected and had to wait for Torn to be released, I don't know how you did it, kudos to each of you because that book gutted me.  I only had to wait mere minutes to pick up Torn even though I felt really raw, but it stuck with me, hence the 5 bar rating.  Kim knows how to tell a story and how to leave you in suspense.  I mean, Ben faked his death, took off to New York and only a handful of people knew he was still alive.  His poor mother, my heart just broke for her and of course then there's Dahlia.  Poor girl, spent nearly two years of her life laying around their house and finally moves on to find the one boy who she's never fully shaken from her psyche since meeting him five years ago and he's proposed, they were literally on their way to get married and then the world drops out from underneath them.

I think my heart broke most though to see River and Dahlia fighting.  River becomes the worst version of himself in this story.  I just wanted to smack him around, shake him, smack his little cheeks and say, "wake the f*** up, she's still here, she's still coming home to you." But I'm not in a book and I couldn't do that.  Put yourself in his shoes and you'd probably feel the same way.  In Connected, he had this black cloud always following him around wondering who Dahlia would choose if Ben were still around and if she'd ever be able to fully let this man go and move on.  Now, here he is in the flesh saying, "Hey, I'm back, we can pick up where we left off." That would make nay man ready to make his woman his officially crazy and send him off on a bender.

In the end though, of course there was an HEA and you know how I crave those like I need my next breath.  This was an amazingly well told series and story and Kim, you did an incredible job with both books.  I'm super excited to get to meet you again in Chicago in May and I can't wait to pick up Mended and Dazed and for all the juicy details on the last two books in the series to be released.  You are truly gifted and I can't wait to see what you put your characters through in the future!

Picture I live in Florida with my husband and four kids. I've always had a love for reading books and writing. Being an English major in college, I wanted to teach at the college level but that was not to be. I went on to receive an MBA and became a project manager until quitting to raise my family. I currently work part-time with my husband and full-time embracing one of my biggest passions—writing.

I wear a lot of hats! Writer, book-lover, wife, soccer-mom, taxi driver, and the all around go-to person of the family. However, I always find time to read. One of my favorite family outings use to be taking my kids to the bookstore or the library. Today, my oldest child is in college and my twins are juniors so they no longer go with me on these outings. And although I don't need to go to the actual store anymore because I have the greatest device ever invented—a Kindle, I still do. There's nothing like a paperback. So now my four year old and I make dates out of going to the bookstore--it's time I love and cherish.

I like to believe in soulmates, kindred spirits, true friends, and Happily-Ever-Afters. I love to drink champagne, listen to music, and hopes to always stay young at heart.

Connected was my debut novel and is currently available on
Amazon, Barnes & Noble , iTunes and Kobo.

Torn is the sequel to Connected and was just released on October 1st, 2013. It is available for purchase on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, iTunes, and Kobo.

To see the remaining books in the series, check out my Goodreads page.

I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoyed writing them.
