The storm clouds break above them, lightning illuminates the sky.

A kiss. Who knew one kiss could hold so much weight, could change a life so much.

Josh’s words play over and over in her mind, the sensation of his lips upon her.

New feelings, new sensations rock her. Warm feelings engulf her. As she dances in a sea of new beginnings.

He hides in the shadows as his prize is taken from him. His burning eyes follow her. Things haven’t gone according to plan, but he will bide his time. An unknown figure will help him achieve his goal. This time he will not fail, this time she will be his.

Josh’s body shields her from the unknown. Holding onto her for dear life as she slips away into her nightmares. Nightmares that have become reality.

Familiar faces, show themselves as strangers.

She wants him, he wants her but can they move on and make a life. Can he be honest with her? Can she bear her soul to him?

When I first started reading Embracing Love it was hard for me to keep up. But, with that being said I realized after the fact that "Renee" you dummy you read Embracing Love and Embracing Life backwards. If I had read them in order it would have made more sense to me. With that being said as I continue to read the story still started to come along so that I could understand what was taking place with Melanie, and why she was so hysterical in the beginning of the book that she collapsed in Josh's arms.

Now for the good stuff and a little insight into this book and what makes it a good read. Melanie is a young woman who is trying to recover from a very abusive childhood. She has been victimized in a terrible way and she is trying to start over in a new town and school since moving in with her father. She has Katie who has become her best friend since the first day she attended school. She also has her other life long friend and for all other purposes her "brother" Mike. She also has one other very important person in her life that she has grown to greatly depend on for support and that is her boyfriend Josh.

We meet this group as they are entering a nightmare that they aren't even expecting. The worst nightmare of Melanie's past has gotten loose and has comeback for her. He is determined to have her again and will stop at nothing. The group finds Melanie running for dear life at the pier where she collapses in Josh's arms and blacks out from fear. This group is thrown into a situation of being locked down and held in the hospital while the police continue to find Melanie's childhood abuser. The day goes from bad to worse as the events transpire. At this point buckle up because you are going to be given a hell of a ride into the events that take place.

I found this to be a good book, but you have to completely devote all of your attention to it. I don't mind books that have multiple POV, but I felt that this one had a few to many. It was a good read, but I can say that for me it was one that I would only find myself reading once. It had a good base, and well developed characters and you could see the love that these teens had for each other and how they looked out for each other as well.
