SYNOPSIS:

Kendall Brooks has an impossible decision: Tell the truth or protect the lie?

She has buried herself in years of undergrad, medical school, and now her residency–hoping to leave behind what she is unable to face.

Her world is rocked to the core when she returns to her small hometown and runs smack dab into her first love, Adam McCoy.

Adam is the key. He stirs up old emotions that send Kendall spiraling back in time, remembering all the moments that led them to her ultimate deception.

Will revealing the truth of what transpired all those years ago provide her the self-forgiveness that she desperately craves or will her devastating secret destroy the only man she has ever truly loved, shattering her heart in its wake?

REVIEW:

What a phenomenal book ... I am so freaking glad I signed up for this tour.  My friend Ena read it and said she bawled her eyes out and I don't cry easily, a book has to be really good to bring out those emotions.  Boy was she right!  I bawled like a baby!

Kendall Brooks is a high school student when the story starts.  She's falling in love with Adam McCoy, the high school football and basketball star.  They've been friends most of their lives and now something more is brewing between them.  As high school progresses, Adam is nearing graduation and Kendall will stay behind one year and then head off to college herself.  She's wanted to go to med-school as long as she can remember.  After a deception by the one person Kendall loves most, she decides to focus on her friends and finishing out her high school career as strong as she can for college.  Adam feels terrible for what he did to Kendall and decides to devout himself to God and his church and complete his mission overseas.  He'll be gone two years and Kendall finds herself devastated all over again as they try to rekindle their fragile relationship.

Kendall heads off to college, med-school and starts her residency when her Grandfather dies and she finds herself front and center with the man she has worked ten long years to stop loving and to forget the greatest deception that anyone could ever know.  Can Kendall tell him what she's been hiding for ten years?  Can Adam forgive her once he knows?  Will they find a way to get past their decade old issues and work their way back to one another?

The story is cleverly told ... it is told in a serious of flashbacks to the moments in time that have brought Kendall to the place where she is a decade after falling in love with Adam McCoy.  Kendall's story is fast paced and suspense filled as she embarks on a journey to rediscover herself after lying to those closest to her most of her adult life.  The story is about the decisions we make in our lives that bring us to where we are today and deciding if you're sorry for the choices you made to get there, even if it means hurting the ones you love most.  It's incredible!  There is a point in the story where I bawled my eyes out, and I mean the ugly cry.  When you get there, you'll know cause you'll be crying too.  Absolutely incredible, L.D. Cedergreen has an amazing voice and a creative story telling ability.  I will definitely be looking for more novels from her in the future and will re-read Ripple again and again.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

L.D. Cedergreen has always enjoyed writing. It started as short stories, and later developed into poetry–some of which has been published–and now her first full-length novel. She’s a vivid day dreamer, a passionate reader, and a fan of all music.

She is a small town girl at heart. Originally from Washington State, she now resides in Southern California with her husband and two little ones.

As much as she would like to call herself a beach girl, she is–without a doubt– grounded by her small town roots.
