REVIEW:

WOW! Things get exciting and a bit hotter in this book. Sometimes a little confusing for me but mainly because I try to figure out the end! The Mafia families and who’s with who made me stop and think for a bit. But still……SOOOOO good!!! So much happens in this book and it’s hard to describe because I don’t want to give away any spoilers.

We ended the last book with Phoenix out of The Elect and now he thinks he’s figured out who Trace is and he’s coming for her. Nixon moves her into what they call the “batcave” (named by Trace LOL) so he can protect her. Chase is with her even more now going to her classes and never leaving her alone. This is causing huge problems for him because his feelings that are supposed to be “friendship” aren’t so much any more. When they have to pretend to be together it makes it even more difficult. Kissing holding hands, etc…..and it’s driving Chase insane.

Phoenix becomes extremely important to the story. Chase and Trace continue their “love” affair, which is sometimes heartbreaking. Mo & Tex move more into the background in this book but they are still around. Nixon…..OMG Nixon!!! The selflessness he has in the book is nothing short of amazing. The very definition of love – doing what’s best for the other person even if it means ripping your own heart out.

Four US Mafia families, one Mafia family from Sicily, old family members, young family members, secrets, lies, deceit, betrayal – this book has it all. Not to mention the cheating between the “fathers” and “mothers” of the younger kids. It’s all up to Nixon to figure it out and boy…..not sure he was prepared for some of the secrets he finds out about.

There is so much happening in this book. It’s not just about Nixon & Trace but lives depend on the outcome and the discovery of secrets. Can Trace have faith that Nixon is doing the right thing? Will she forgive him when he does?

How can you love someone so much but not be IN love with them? Will Chase be able to let her go?

Very action packed - I read this book extremely fast just to find out how it ends. There is a cliffhanger but not so much that I was upset. It’s more a story line cliffhanger than part of the characters. We also meet Mil in this book who is Phoenix’s stepsister and is a crazy badass! I love her character and I think she’ll be more of a main character in the next book, Entice.

I highly recommend this book but I also recommend reading Elite first as it builds from there. Really can’t wait for Entice!!!!! I’m loving this series!!! Definitely a MUST read!!
