When Killian MacGregor, the hottest quarterback in the NFL, eyes the perfect pair of female legs, he spends an hour tracking the gorgeous woman in a room filled with rowdy teammates until one gets out of line.

Rebecca Cavanaugh, a long distance runner for the state team, intimidates boys and men with her quick wit and majestic height. The pre-season jock party isn’t her scene, but she’s roped into attending to provide her sister a sober ride home.

Hiding in the kitchen to avoid the athletic sex fest, a drunken thug forces Rebecca to her knees, and waves a giant ding-dong in her face. Before Rebecca can extricate herself from the hairy situation, an unknown champion saves the night. When Killian assists Rebecca off the floor, she’s stunned into silence while staring at the sexiest man alive.

Will Killian’s bad boy rep and Rebecca’s need for commitment, make this the most impossible “Play” of the season? Or, will Killian’s haunting past and need for victory destroy the most important game of his life?

“Play” is intended for readers 18+. Enjoy with caution… this book contains adult situations, erotic sex, and more balls than a girl knows what to do with.

This was a fun story about a girl who feels as if she is the ugly duckling who meets and falls for the prince who she believes is way out of her league.

Rebecca Cavenaugh is introduced to Killian McGregor at a party where she is put in a situation that is not proving to bode well for her. When Stump, a player for the Scorpions, mistakes her for one of the “party girls” Killian come to her rescue. Killian has been admiring and watching Rebecca from across the room and is unsure of the attraction he has for her. Rebecca is immediately thankful for her “knight in shining armor” for saving her from a mouthful of Stump’s stump. He senses that she is done being at the party and demands he be able to take her home. During the ride home Rebecca realizes her deep attraction to the star quarterback, but soon comes to the fact that he is out of her league and would not be attracted to a tall lanky non model as herself. Killian being the ultimate gentleman puts her in the car, latches her seatbelt and drives her home to her apartment on campus. Once there he walks her to her door and sees that she is home safe and sound then leaves.

Rebecca is overwhelmed with dreams and thoughts of her quarterback hero and googles him to find out more. As is Rebecca, Killian finds himself thinking of the tall beauty wanting to know more about her and to also see her again. During class, a month later, Rebecca receives a package containing three tickets to a Scorpions preseason game. Deciding to go and see her now fantasy in life she gets her two best friends, Amanda and Lyle to accompany her. They immediately learn that they are going to be seated in the skybox of the stadium and are pampered to all the luxuries of it. This is where Becca meets Malory, Blitz’s wife, who is married to Killian’s best friend. The two hit it off immediately and become instant friends. Malory explains the ins and outs of the game to Rebecca while talking about how special Killian feels about her. After the game Killian gets the chance to take Rebecca home again and takes advantage of the situation to take her to his house where the spark and lust between the two fires off and they hook up. From here they start the fast moving journey of their relationship. Killian finds himself unable to be without Rebecca, as does she. Everything is moving fine until Killian gets hurt in the first playoff game. With his season now over and his chances of a super bowl ended he pushes Rebecca away. She keeps in contact with his mother and brother during this heart breaking time without Killian knowing. His mother continues to tell her to remain strong and he will come around. With her heart in shreds she turns towards running to help exhaust her endless emotional turmoil. Because of this, Rebecca is in the best shape of her life and is able better her track times so much that she is no longer in the middle of the pack, but leading them. After her first win she sees Killian in the stands and it rips her wounded heart open again by having to watching him get up and walk away.

Killian finally comes to his senses and starts trying to get her back, but Rebecca is still hurt and angry, and fights his advances. He decides that he will start running with her every morning in an effort to wear her down and hoping she will talk to him. He finally accepts that this is not working so he takes another route. One morning while running through the park Rebecca spots Killian with his brother Michael holding a sign saying “If she’s a screamer, she’s a keeper”. Rebecca stops kisses Michael on the cheek and continues her run. Killian and Michael make this a daily practice until Rebecca finally agrees to go out to dinner with Killian. He knows that this is his chance to wear her down and remove the walls that she has constructed around her heart. He confesses his love to her and explains his feelings and emotions as to why he pushed her away. She finally breaks and lays down the ground rules as to what she will and will not stand for again and Killian agrees and lets her know that he can’t live without her and never wants to let her go again. He tells her that she is his everything and that he loves her more than Michael and football. Rebecca then tells Killian that she has the same kind of love for him as well. With this said, I am going to leave you with the statement to find out what happens with them you must read the book. I am not going to give you all the good stuff.

This is one of those books that draws you in with the humor and fun banter that takes place as well as giving you those moments of I know he just did not do that. It also makes you stop and think of how when you least expect something to cross your path it can and will change your life in that one moment. How if and when the stars align just right you can find that one person who “gets” you and that you are meant to be with. I love a book that grabs you from the beginning and has you wanting more right from the start. Tie that in with a love for sports and you have a winning combination called PLAY. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

I dissolved into the seat of his amazing car. A low moan escaped my lips but Killian just showed his dimples and buckled me in. I wondered what he’d do if I pulled him tightly against me and sniffed… for an hour or two. He opened his door and folded into the seat with absolute grace regardless of his size. “Ah hell,” he muttered and turned my way. Unlatching my seatbelt, he pulled me in for the most mouthwatering kiss I’d ever had. His lips, soft but firm, molded to mine. His tongue ran over my teeth, tasted, dipped deeper, and then plunged. He effortlessly slid out the elastic holding my hair before spreading his fingers to either side of my scalp. The kiss intensified and Killian made promises for the night ahead with his lips. He tasted so damn good. When he pulled back, I actually whimpered and smiled at the low rumbling growl that came from Killian’s throat. He took my lower lip between his teeth and pulled slightly before letting go. He put distance between us leaving me bereft. “We’ll eat at my house.” He kissed my forehead, reached over, grabbed the seatbelt, and fastened me in again. My hands went to my hair as I looked around for the hair tie. “Leave it.” I stopped my search but couldn’t help running my fingers through the mussed tangles. Killian’s hand captured mine. “No.” He released my fingers just as fast as he verbalized the one word. I wasn’t a pushover, didn’t have much experience with guys, but I had some. I should have argued, straightened my hair anyway, or even voiced some sort of displeasure. An electrically charged pulse shot straight to the junction of my thighs, and there I went and tried to stain his car’s upholstery. I kept my mouth shut.
