'I will always take care of you'

My pain started when I was just ten years old, it was the day my mom got that dreaded phone call. Life has never been the same....

'I will always protect you'

I am all kinds of broken....

I have known Logan White since forever, he is my brothers best friend and my secret protector. I used to have nightmares that drew me into a dark place and when the nightmares got too much, Logan was by my side. The nightmares are few and far between now, but my life is centered around the tragedy of my past.

Logan is the definition of 'man whore', with girls lining around the block to drop their panties at the click of his fingers. But after an unexpected moment things change. Now Logan is somebody else; hot, sexy and so damn delicious and I want to know him. Desperately.

But then there is Angel Walker who is far from the angelic nature of his name, with eyes so hypnotic that I lose my inhabitation’s just by staring into them. But he is a broken man who just screams sin. He doesn't want to protect me or care for me, He just wants me.

Do I want the man who can cut through all of my pain or the man who could cause me more?

Fists will fly, hearts will shatter and desire will be fueled.

I love this book so much that these characters were the first thing on my mind this morning as I was waking up. I had to tell myself they aren't real.

Neva is living her life in torment over her fathers sudden automobile death 10 years earlier. She's now in college and still feels like a broken child. She can't get over it. She is studying to be a music teacher and struggles with this because it's her fathers influence that drives this passion. She surrounds herself with her brother Tate, who is her rock. He has provided for her as a brother & as a stand in father. However, he is emotionally closed off when it comes to their father and doesn't want to talk about him. Logan is Tate's best friend and has been since before the accident. He has taken on the role of protector for Neva and he is the only one that can bring her out of her terrible nightmares. Low is Neva's best friend and the only girlfriend she has that knows what she's been through. She is no-nonsense and extremely loyal.

They are all at college. Hanging out and having a wonderful college experience. Then she meets Angel. Dark & handsome, dominate with amazing blue eyes. At about the same time she meets Angel, Logan declares his feelings for her. She loves him in the you-know-me-better-than-anyone way but that's also the problem. Angel doesn't know her past and she can be free to live without being broken. Logan, even though he's her protector she feels broken with him. We spend the middle of the book with her trying to figure out her feelings and come to terms with her fathers death. This isn't bad.....the writing is great and during many situations I found myself either crying with her or yelling at her more than once. Always the sign of a great book!!!

She's with Angel. He's her boyfriend. She pushes Logan away seemingly for his own good so he won't have to deal with someone so broken. If it were only that easy - Logan is her everything. Her family and her protector.....her friend. She loves him like no one else but feels that she's not good enough for him. This story is basically about love. The different kinds of love: mom, dad, brother, friends. And the courage to love without conditions.

Will Neva be able to decide? Does she choose protection or freedom to be herself? With this decision also comes overlooking Logan's "man-whore" status and Angel's secret family issues - which are huge!! When she finds out his issues, will she be able to deal with them? Can she move past her fathers death and live a life for herself?

The writing is wonderful. Characters are strong, human, emotional people that feel real. Beginning with the prologe you dive right into the story. Not an over abundance of additional characters but just enough character support to make for a great story without having to keep up with too much. I have to say that is review was completed a couple different times. Mainly due to the ending. However I received great news......there's another book!!! There is a major cliffhanger (it had me cursing at my iPad!!!) but I can't wait to get the next book!

What sort of except do authors usually post? IE. sex scenes, love scenes....
